I've had my room booked for months, so there's a 95% chance I'll be there! FYI there is a game in Fayetteville that saturday. From my experience driving from LR or Conway in that direction on a Friday before a game, traffic is a lot busier than the normal rush hour traffic. For that reason alone, I may not be able to get up to the lodge until after 9p unless I can sneak out of work early, we'll see.

Hotels are so odd. When I called to check my reservation, i asked if they had anything else available because I was thinking I could go to a cheaper room, they said they were all booked up, yet they've extended the time before they release our room block? Maybe he didnt' realize i was w/the group, I'll call back. I have a 2 queen deluxe room, 1 queen would be enough.
I guess its obvious I don't travel that part of the state much. Evidently I40 traffic isn't an issue. Leaving from Little Rock, mapquest has me going up Hwy 10 to 309, is that the best way to go? Mapquest from my experience isn't always correct.
Looking forward to it.
Any idea of how many minis and/or people are expected?

True, but I'll be driving alone, at night, somewhere I've never been before. So I wanted to take the easiest route.
I'm sure I can handle stayin on Hwy 10 for a few hrs, just have to find 309!
I have a few of ya'lls cell numbers, if I get lost I'll call.
If anyone out there is leaving LR around 4-5 to head that way, let me know and I'll tag along behind.

Tess,
You will hit Highway 309 at the little town of Havana. Be sure you do NOT turn on 307, I always think I have the wrong highway number when I pass 307. Just keep going and you will come to 309. It's not a bad drive. I thought you lived or worked in Conway, if so, go south to Ola and hit 10 there. That's the way I go from Hot Springs, except north to Ola, ha. It's only about 20 or 25 miles or so west of Ola. Not "hours" away. Be careful on 309, it's pretty twisty and steep, fun though! You can go on highway 22 from Dardanelle to Paris and then take 309 south to the lodge. Either way, it's not that far from Conway.
Good luck.

I'm also hearing some buzz about the costumes folks are organizing for the Halloween party Friday night. Should be fun!

Could someone tell us how Hwy 7 from Harrison, AR to Paris, AR is? We're not to sure of the road. We are coming down out of Branson. Any help would be greatly appreciated. See you at Mt. Magazine.

Scenic 7 will be two lane and curvy most of they way. Should be pretty this time of year, though. Google maps shows a couple of main routes to the lodge from Harrison:
AR7 to Ar27 to AR10 through R-ville = 128 mi and 3 hours 57 min (
)
AR 7 to Ar 16, then over to AR-21 and down to C-Ville, Ar 21 to AR 64 then AR109 to AR22 to Paris = 128 mi and about 4 hours. This will be part of our route back from Eureka.
The AR16-to AR21 route through Clarksville has been vetted as having good roads, but for the route through R-Ville I'm not much help. Looks like you will have good weather and great scenery either way. Lots of combinations of roads available. Have fun!

Hwy 7 south is a GREAT road. It is 2 lane and curvy, but not bad. There is usually traffic on it, but I can fly on it when I go up to Branson. It was recently repaved in a few sections (at Pelsor where Hwy16 crosses) b/c of a landslide, but the entire road is back open.
Hwy 16 is also a really good road; however, I have never been on the Clarksville side of 16. I always take it over to Clinton. Hwy 21 is a good road - our friend's cabin is on 21 close to Ozone.
The Hwy 7 route would be less curvy and would have more stops available - for gas, food, etc. But either route would be a blast. Take one on the way down and the other on the way home.

So far we have about 19 registered MINIs and several extras we know of who have not registered. Looks to be about half GT and half Touring types. Should be a good turnout! See you on Friday!!
