I wanted to say hello to all of you fellow Arkansans. I am pretty sure I am about to go ahead and order a MINI; I've agonized over it 'cuz I'm so far from service but oh well, what the hey. It's worth it, right?

 

Put aside your fears Minerva Louise. Everything is safe when your in a MINI. Besides, You may not have to go over to Memphis but once a year like me. Depends on how much you drive though. This is my last year under warranty, but I have already found a service guy that knows the MINI real well. Donnies Foreign Cars in west Little Rock comes highly reccommended.

OH BOY- knowing there is someplace in Little Rock that CAN do repairs if needed is a REAL peace of mind thing for me! Thanks for the recommendation- now I will feel like I can order and sleep at night too! My hubby will be pleased now, as knowing that, I will be able to quit waffling- I'm afraid I might be driving him nuts.

 

Yeah, but I would make sure and utilize Roadshow for all the free oil changes and services calls that come with your contract. Once you use Donnie's, some of your covered warranty items might no longer be valid. Besides, weekends in Memphis can be fun if you are only going once a year and hotel rooms are not that bad. My wife and I made a weekend of it everytime the service call came up.

 

Sorry sweetie, but if you're planning on getting a MINI, he ain't seen nothing yet!!!

 

Kartie is right, wait till you decide you have to go to AMVIV(Vegas) or MOTD(North Carolina) or MITM (Colorado) or one of the other big meets.

 

Minerva Louise, glad to read ya on board. Having a MINI becomes one of the highlights of life (next to family).

My take on the service: which do you live closer to Memphis or Dallas? I've had my MINI for 1 1/2 years and I'm out of service, 61k, I put on 54k of those so I change my own oil and do some of the easy stuff like that. I don't know anything about the guys in Dallas, AMOK members get a service discount at Roadshow in Memphis and I enjoy all those guys. Of course, if all you have done while under warranty is regular things you won't have to use that discount for awhile.

AMOKs would be awefully glad to have you apart of us. Check out the other threads on our forum concerning events. We'd love to have you join us even if you don't have your MINI yet.

Thanks for the warm welcome Free Spirit! The discount thing is good to know about. Insofar as which I am closer to, I think probably I am a little closer to Memphis, which is where I went to test drive and am pretty sure I am going to order through. I do wish the drive there were a bit more interesting!

It sounds like you AMOKs have a lot of fun- I look forward to meeting you all, and hope that I will be motoring about with you soon. For now, I am off to visit the configurator to check if I have it all just perfect before I tell them to "Order my MINI, please!"

No, unfortunately, no firm dates yet. I am signed up so I can find out when anything gets underway, but so far patience is required. Don't worry, I will definitely keep you all posted.
