I know I shouldn't open my mouth, but...
Now that it's been mentioned, my wife has been hounding me to renew our wedding vows in Vegas.
But she doesn't want 'McD's Drive Thru - "Do you want fries with that" style'.
She wants cheesy Vegas though.
Any thoughts on a Vegas Chapel, complete with Elvis Impersonator Clergy, where a large group of MINIs could pull in and watch a couple of MINIacs get hitched all over again?
You could even make it a end to the Strip drive, if you wanted... although I think the wife wanted to catch PotO that night... not sure.
Any suggestions from the Sin City types???

When we got married in Vegas, we used a place called "The Garden of Love". Yes, they did have a brief reality show on about them. The price was very reasonable for what we got.
The Elvis impersonator was in my opinion one of the very best that I have seen. Not sure if he is still doing it or not, but he was the Elvis impersonator that was/is perfomring in the "American Superstars" show that was being done by the Stratosphere.
His name is Darren Lee. I don't have any links available because I know that the place that we used has since moved to a new location and I am not sure where.

Any suggestions from the Sin City types???Maybe a mass MINI driver wedding at AMVIV...kinda like the shotgun wedding from the movies of the 60's?

Let's DO THIS!!! (Thank ya, thank ya very much)
For our 1st anniversary, my wife surprised me with a trip to Vegas (we were living in Nebraska at the time) including a vow renewal with an Elvis at the Graceland Wedding Chapel. It was great fun and I'd heartily recommend them.

she wants to do this, really, really badly...So how should we plan this? We'll be coming in on Thursday, and the only things we HAVE to do (partly because they're already paid for) is:
1) Death Valley (Friday, right?)
2) Valley of Fire (Saturday Afternoon)
3) Banquet (Saturday PM)
4) Vinyl Install by AC (Sunday AM)
We're planning on leaving Monday early AM. Maybe this could be in lieu of the Good Springs drive? I don't want to step on anyone's toes, but if there is some way we could 'block out' some time during AMVIV to do this, maybe we could get a bunch of couples interested in doing this? I know one group here!
I guess I can lose the button up shirt and dockers for a weekend and ware a torn Budwiser t-shirt and cutt of shorts.
OK, the Wife has looked over the site, and after getting up off the floor and sitting back in her chair,

Here is a capture from the video when we did it.
We were Rockette stepping down the aisle with all 3 of us singing "Viva Las Vegas". Much fun!
My wife set it up as a complete surprise to me for our 1st wedding anniversary, including getting my boss to let me out of work early and making (yes, MAKING) the sequined "Vegas" wedding dress in the picture.

Time limits...
Wow, that IS a picture! My wife wanted to know what the time constraints would be between Valley of Fire and the AMVIV Banquet? She was thinking that even if we had two or three couples, we could all get done in under 45 minutes (even if we ended up going together) and have the Banquet as a kind of 'Reception'
Of course, she would want a little time to 'freshen up' between the drive and the wedding...

If you head straight back from Furnace Creek, as opposed to going through Pahrump and stopping at the track for the race, you should have plenty of time for a quickie Elvis ceremony. Coming straight back should have you back at Palace Station around 3:30pm. Maybe a little earlier, maybe a little later.
That should give you time to freshen up, bop down to the chapel and have a quick ceremony and get back for the 6pm openning of the banquet room doors. The video of our Vegas wedding lasts 15 minutes, just to give you an idea. I recommend buying the video. It's entertainment for YEARS to come!
