fs: M7 exhaust

This is the 2 resonator setup, used for 1200 miles, nothing wrong with it, I went in a different direction. $XXX, located in NorCal. Prefer local buyer. Thanks.

I know M7 no longer sells it but wasn't it about $780 (or maybe $790) brand new if you missed the intro special?

Umm... I'd have to disagree. The exhaust is still available. It wasn't manufactured by M7, it was only sold by them. The system is made by a company called PowerTone out of Laguna Beach. And from what Randy and Peter have said here and elsewhere, M7 didn't make enough money to make it worth their time and effort and they didn't want to jack the price up.

This was posted by Peter just yesterday.

As far as it being "the loudest / most abnoxious," to each their own I guess. I have my opinions and you have yours.

All that aside, I have the exhaust and I enjoy it. I love the burble, makes my car sound mean. It even got the neighbor with a crazy Mustang over asking questions after he heard it.

Thank you chipgrafx, there's was absolutly no quality issues on any of the systems we sold (except one that had a pinhole in the weld). Bottom line if we can't make a profit on the product....it's bye bye.

We are currently working on a new system that has some very interesting
noise and flow controll features, keeping some of the very attractive deep
sound without painfull resonaces at the typical 3-4k rpm. Because of the unusual flow control feature, which is passive (no expensive valves), a large
cross sectional area can be used with no low rpm torque loss..

And for you who has our FreeFlow exhaust....It's really great and we will service/ guarantee the parts for 5 years.

Wait, wait, wait. I'm not usually the one to jump in and say hey... that is a stupid comment. But hey!!! That's a stupid comment. This guy is selling an exhaust to a well educated community. Meaning whoever buys it will either asks the right questions so they know what they are getting or knows what they are getting into before hand.

Here you are making comments with little to no interest in buying it and then to take it a step further, you state things that you say "are from the streets".

Did you take notice that the guy that corrected you was the vendor of the product you are talking about. While I know that many vendor's will say whatever they need to to cover their a$$, m7 is by far the most active aftermarket company in the mini community.

They respond to all the "your stuff is the dogs danglies" posts as well as the "m7 broke my car" posts with the same approach. Fair, honest, and freekin fast, just like their products.

So just take a second... step back from the keyboard and let this guy sell his exhaust and let m7 keep making parts that kick ****.

gl with the sale, if i had the cash available I would be all over it. oh and sorry for the hijack... it's just one of those days at work.

Prime......just a bit of clarification. M7 did not make this exhaust, they were simply reselling a product and badging it as their own. And from the info on the manufacturers web site I don't blame M7 for not carrying it any longer. Looks good, but the claims are a bit over zealous.........LOL. Although I would have thought M7 would have put a little more research into the exhaust before badging it as an M7 product.

Realisticly them badging it and selling it as an m7 product is the same as them producing it themselves. I work in an industry where subbing and shifting work to an allied company, or even a competitor at times is how you get stuff done. And honestly, I think this is a very very common practice in the current small business market.

I'm sure m7 took the product, did the research they needed to, to verify that it was a product worthy of their name, and started selling it. At that point the product comes with a warrenty through m7 and the m7 seal of approval.

At that point you can assume it is of the same quality as if m7 produced it themselves. I'm not saying you don't have a valid point that this technically might not be a made by m7 exhaust but at the same time, it's about the same thing.

As it turns out them subbing this work out to an allied company wasn't a money making venture. And it seems from all of m7 products that they find the happy medium between premium products and solid pricing.

happy motoring.

how does any of this have any relevance to this thread?? don't debate the merits of the product or M7's business acumen.....let the dude sell the part he's decided wasn't the right fit for him. Lord knows I've gone through my share as well.

people grapping on product or a vendor in an unrelated FS thread makes me nauseous :(

But this product is available from the manufacturer. M7 simply rebadged them and made them available. Sounds like they couldn't compete price wise with the original manuf. M7 didn't design this.

Thank you Scott, your insight in the matter is golden......
Why don't you do your homework, which you didn't,did you.

If you call Powertone you will find that they sell the same system for $999.00
so don't come around and spread false info......But you knew that didn't you.

What exactly are you saying? What false info? Are you claiming that the system you were selling is somehow different from their system?

No he is saying that the system that we were selling was less than what the Mfg. charges for a similar system and that you were wrong yet again . It was not a case of not being able to compete with them price wise in any way shape or form. We were trying to bring yet another quality product to the mini market place at a MINI price and it wasn't to be this time around. We try to bring somehing out for you guys at a minimal margin and refuse to raise the retail to make sensable numbers when our costs go up and get grief for it . Is that clear enough for you .

I realized that you were trying to sell it for less than the manuf could. I stated that that was probably the reason why you aren't making it available to us anymore. What is wrong with that statement? I wasn't trying to imply that you did anything wrong, except to say that it seemed like you didn't do your homework (pricewise) before offering this product. But you stated above that you couldn't meet your desired pricepoint, so it does come down to your price vs the manuf's.

My had to do with their claim of creating additional power from the vanes installed, not the silencing aspect of them.

During the short life of the product they raised our cost and suggested we raise our retail. Rather than pass the pricing hike off on the Mini market as they suggested we dropped the product. We did our " homework " as you say, they raised the price. Now lets talk about something you may have a clue about. I am in the market for some new pads andsee you have the hawk units . How are they working out for you ?
