FS: 2002 Cooper S full engine swap - transmission, axles, header, etc
2002 Mini Cooper S engine swap
- engine
- transmission
- axles
- shift linkage
- all accessories originally bolted to the engine
- no more than 15K miles (I forget the exact number)
new lower price --> $3000 plus shipping
Engine is located in Raleigh, NC. I would be much more flexible on the price if someone could pick it up in person and I didn't have to deal with shipping.

Selling because I don't drive the car that much anymore and it'll probably be a long time before I have a use for it.

My stance is that if you're not a potential buyer, you shouldn't be posting in the thread at all. On MOST forums, criticizing someone's asking price is against the rules for that very reason.

Apparently, you're too intent on arguing with me to actually read my posts... Take your time, and read this slow... maybe read it again if you're having a hard time...
Pretending that one ebay auction determines "market value" is obsurd. If that were the case, then this one just set market value at $4200
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2002-...QQcmdZViewItem
oh wait... this one just set it at $4600

Then, maybe I could go to http://car-part.com and search. I'd find that most all of the complete and undamaged engine/tranny combos are selling for $3000 or more from salvage yards - which is typically the most accurate assessment of "market value".
As a seller, I'm pretty confident that a serious buyer would contact me directly discuss pricing. Making offhand comments about your opinion of "market value" just shows that you've got no interest in buying and are just wasting my time.
For the record, I've seen EVERY cooper engine that's gone through ebay in the last year and a half and believe me, I know what they're selling for. The $2000 engine was the cheapest one to ever sell. Assuming (and that's a big assumption) that there was nothing wrong with it, and the deal actually went through, then someone got a good deal. Am I trying to sell mine for the absolute lowest price anyone's paid? No, and most others wouldn't either.

Perhaps if, instead of jumping on the name-calling bandwagon so quickly, you had started by responding with the potentially useful historical information you are now posting you would have only benefitted yourself and the NAM community. Now that this information is posted here, hopefully someone will get a good deal on this item you're selling and the transaction goes smoothly!
