I can do you one better $275 from ($12 shipping): link to waymotorworks.com voluntarily removed to adhere to forum policy (the only policy I have broken)
And they have a used one for $225...

This is only $299 from Outmotoring...am I missing something?
Does Outmotoring have any in stock? The dealership told me that a lot of the prices have gone up on many OEM parts (especially JCW) because of the weak US dollar. Also, in the past week or so there have been two eBay auctions for new in box JCW intakes...one sold for $290 + shipping and the other for $310 + shipping. And as you point out, I'm within $1 of Outmotoring's price. What am I missing?
Then by all means, as I told you in my PM response to your low ball offer of $250 shipped, buy it from Waylan if he has one in stock.
I wouldn't consider my offer a "low ball" as I feel it's completely justified based off prices in the market... but that's just my opinion, and no offense was intended.
I'm just sharing comparative pricing with fellow Mini owners!
I honestly don't know if outmotoring has any instock. I was planning to call next week after they get back from MOTD. And I haven't been watching ebay. But $300 just seemed a touch on the high side...not crazy and if they are out of stock everywhere then it probably is a good deal.
Call it what you would like, there's nothing wrong with it if the information stated it true!
It's called etiquette. You PM'd me with an offer and I responded with an explanation why I chose not to accept it. Then you post info directing interested parties to a vendor who sells it for less (without even confirming that the vendor has any available at that price). Not cool.
You are potentially over charging and I'm simply providing a potential alternative source.
Except that's not the purpose of the marketplace. There is almost always a better price somewhere. If you find a good price on a product and you want to share the info with others, you can start your own thread in the modifications forum. I'm sure a lot of NAM members would appreciate the heads up.
I'm not alone when I say that the moderators hate it when a FS post turns this way. Here's my opinion: price questioning is rude and disrespectful. It's buyer beware in all instances, you're not obligated to point out high prices as a service to other members. If you see something wrong, report the post. If you're not interested in the item at that price, PM the seller with your offer, else, stay out.
