F.S Quaife Diff

Selling my Quaife diff out of my R53 MCS six speed. This is one of my favorite mods and really helps with hard canyon driving and even cruising around town. Mini Mania sells it for over $1600. I'm selling mine for $900 and will ship. Here is the link to Mini Mania http://http://new.minimania.com/web/Item/NMG1005/AddedFrom/CatBrowse%2D%20ENGINE%2DTRANS%5FNM/InvDetail.cfm

It has 15k on it.
No track days at all.
I'm putting the car back to stock because I have an R56 on order.

I like the idea, but I need a little more motivation to spend $1K on a single very hard to install modification (though I know I'd love it once the bill was paid).

Yeah, it's removing the car from the differential that's the hard part.

It's certainly something I can do, but it definitely falls on the more time consuming side of the scale.

Also, don't go buying the bearings from the folks charging $40 for each one. they're only $10 at autozone, and they stock them.

The most important part is making sure the length of the diff with bearings installed is correct. I've only had one that wasn't. and a quick turn on the lathe cured it. it was only .005in off. Probably wouldn't have been an issue.

You'd laugh if you saw how easy it was after the trans is out of the car.

You should write and FAQ for the forum as I'm sure you have a number of suggestions and shortcuts

I'll work on it. I've actually got an 04 MCS apart putting a new front end on it.

Maybe I'll take the trans apart just to show how easy it is.

Sorry to take the thread off track.

No need to apologize, as it would seem that you are able to offer a huge benefit to anyone of us who do these installs.

Where are you located? I have done 2, and there is no way I would be able to get it done in the 4 hours you can.

The diff install is EASY. It is getting the transmission out of the car that is time consuming.
