Parting our MINI?
Parting our MINI?
Well, I am thinking of parting our my 2002MCS. It was totalled, hit HARD in the back. I have alot of mods that I am thinking about buying the salvage and taking them off. I am wondering if there will be a market for other items to make it worth my while.
What do you think?

Depends how much they want for salvage, if you have room to store it, the value of the mods you have, and what your time is worth.
Sometimes insurance will let you pull off non-stock parts, as long as you replace them with the stock parts.

If it was hit in the back there could be LOTS of things you could strip off the car and sell. Depending on how much they want for it and how much time you are willing to put in you could make some good money.
time is the main thing. it might take a while before you sell most of the parts on the car. patience is key. im sure lots of people may want to buy stock parts. and of course like others said. you definitely need space to leave it.
before my mini, i had a 2000 civic si. and in blue. it was totalled and i bought it back. but i didnt have the time and place to leave it. so i just sold it locally for a little more than i bought it back for...hehehe

I would buy the front and rear headrests if possible!!

I promise to pm everybody who has shown interest as soon as I am sure what I am doing. Been kind of busy today going to a neuroligist due to the wreck. Looks like I am going to be ok though.

Consider if you can easily dispose of whatever's left once you strip and sell, whether you have time/space/expertise to get all that stuff off the shell, etc. I'm sure it'd be worth it - after all, that's what salvage yards do - but consider what your time and hassle factors are worth...
Here is a link to a pic, I think you can then see a couple of others.
