Stock R56 brakes for sale

EVERYTHING IS SOLD. THANKS

I have a complete front setup in new condition. These are off a brand new R56 07 Mini Cooper S that just had JCW brakes installed. These brakes have only 25 miles on them, not even broken in yet. This is a great upgrade for R53 Minis as I've heard they are the same as 02-06 JCW brakes. I am only selling the following as a complete package:

2x R56 oem front rotors

2x R56 oem complete front calipers w/ pads

2x BMW oem brake fluid

Local pickup preferred, if not buyer pays shipping. I live in Orange County, CA area. Price is $200 pick up or $250 shipped FIRM

750 is steep considering i have seen JCW brakes go for much less and for a few hundred more I can really go big

Why is this? Is it due to the updated lug bolt size? I had heard that the R56 brakes were essentially the same as the JCW brakes offered for the R53. What other differences are there?

It's due to lug bolt sizes that are different.

The R56 caliper is nearly identical to the R53 JCW calipers and rotors so I would say that $500-650 is very fair....I can see stock R53 Calipers going for under 100 per wheel but these are MUCH better brakes altogether and would be a great uprade from a stock R53 setup...

Would these brakes work on an R53 if you just get new lug bolts?

I think you'd have to swap out the hubs as well to fit the bigger lugs.

I just looked up a few things, and I'm not familiar with brakes so bear with me...

The lug bolts simply pass through the rotors and thread onto the hub, right? So it seems to me that you should be able to put these brakes on an R53 with 12mm lug bolts without a problem. The bolt holes on the rotors may be larger than they need to be, but that should not be an issue. It's not the shear load of the bolts that makes everything work, it's the hub, rotor and wheels being squeezed together. Does this make sense?

I concur. Why won't this work?

It does work. We have the R56 brakes on Eric's '02 MCS
I'll double check with Eric to see if any additional modifications were needed.
