WTB: Intercooler Cover Bolt and Long Nut

OK. This is an odd one.

Somehow one of the bolts and accompanying long nut that secures the intercooler cover to the intercooler worked its way off and disappeared. When facing the engine, it is the lower left bolt that has evaporated. The bolt is secured by this long (about an inch or so) nut that fits into the intercooler bracket. I need both of these parts. It turns out the dealer can get the bolt but the long nut is part of the intercooler and to get a replacement I have to buy a new intercooler!

So, if anyone has swapped out their intercooler for a fancier one, I would like to purchase your bolt and long nut to make my intercooler whole again.

Please PM me if you can help.

I am looking for the bolt labeled as number 6 and the hexagonal sleeve and associated nut indicated by the arrows labeled "THIS" in the diagram linked to below

Dude, please reread the 1st post. It is part of the Intercooler and is not sold individually.

Neil,

Try Mini Recycling in Rancho Cordova 1-800-926-5900

Good Luck!

This is a little weird. I just installed a boost gauge a couple days ago and the bolt and nut/sleeve combo that you lost is the one that was messed up on my car. The bolt was definitely crossthreaded and the sleeve was actually broken out of it's mounts. I had to use a wrench to hold the sleeve while I removed the nut. I wonder if this is just a coincidence.

try talking to a dealer that knows whats up and its no problem getting a bolt or nut for this!! I got mine within a week of a "special" order. easy and fast, took maybe 3 days to get in.

I ordered both front torx bolts for the IC and one of the extended hex nuts to screw the bolt into.

El G.,

The (local) dealer I spoke to indicated that the extended hex nuts were available only as part of the complete intercooler. I would appreciate if you could PM me the dealer you spoke to.

Thanks!

I just read this thread...I was suprised when I read it because my stock intercooler is missing the SAME exact screw (lower left). I am second in line for one behind the original poster.

I was just at the shop today, I have two of the long nuts that are kinda wedged in the IC, I know one of them have the screw threaded in it, not sure about the other one. I was only looking for one, not two. I'll check again skitelluride531.
