Well folks, its about time to consider plans for a caravan of MINI's heading to the Dragon from our area.

I will be leaving on Wednesday May 4th (possibly even as early as Tuesday), so will probably not be a part of the majority of those heading out on Thursday, but I thought it was time to start a thread to get this organized.

 

I'm up for a caravan to the Dragon, but I'm going up on Thursday morning. If anybody from B'ham want to ride up together we can do what we did last year, we meet in fort payne off I-59. Yucca see if I'm going in the right direction, up 59 to I-24 then to I-75 right on hwy 68 then left hwy411 then right on hwy20 to hwy129.

If I'm missing anything please let me know, looking forward to the weekend.

I'll be joining SJolly on the drive up there. I don't know of any others going from Huntsville.

I guess I will meet the Hville group and ride up. Hey what do I need to RSVP for. I have looked and I don't know what to sign up for. Also do I need to RSVP passengers in the car too?

im leaving on thurs. a.m. and will try to meet up in ft. payne. last year we met at the jcc on montclair rd. in bham for a 7am start. earlier would be fine with me. do we all eat before we leave or on the way? also what time to meet in ft.payne etc? cant wait.:smile:

 

Make sure you have purchased at least the $5 event registration. Due to liability concerns, some event and drive organizers (such as myself) will not allow unregistered MINI's to participate.

Some of the events/drives have limited spaces available. Catered dinners need RSVP's and tickets. Some events such as my "Midnight on the Dragon II" event are not very strict about RSVP's but it does help us to plan the event.

Y'all have fun at the dragon. Steve & I are going to scout out a "mini dragon-like" ride (we hope) while you are gone. Will let ya know if it is worth a hoot. I warn you all to book a room for next year cause I am calling Fontana this weekend to try to beat you out on a room booking for next year lol. Hope u all have fun & think of the less fortunate while you are asphalt surfing on the twisties.

It was a blast. Work calls and I must do my duty to keep my money coming in, but the one day I had at the Dragon, was a blast. Make sure you all check out the panoramic photo, It should look coolbeans. Well I leave, Bob from Bham there to take the rest of my fun for me, and the 3 boogers from up North there, but I can tell you they are having a blast.

 

Bamatt, I just got back from the Dragon a few hours ago. This morning we booked our room for next year. Talk about planning.

It was a blast even if I had to leave a day earlier. I'll be sure to have some pictures up soon and hopefully a video of myself, Sjolly and Magic MINI running up the Dragon together. Keep an eye on Magic's site for pictures.

I got over 400 pictures and 3-4 hours of video so something should be good in there.

just wanted to shoot a thanks to all my BAMA MINI buddys for letting me join you in Ft. Payne on the way to the dragon.

My husband finally got there real late Sat. night. Thanks Jeff for the super room. So sorry you had to leave but so glad I got your room at Tapoco.

I didn't want to start a new thread so I just used this one from the summer Dragon run.

The weekend of the 15-16th of October 2005 is the weekend that a few of the Rocket City Mini's are going to go to the dragon. I just wanted to get the word out. As of now we will be going up on the 16th, run the dragon a few times,eat lunch and turn and head home.

The only plans that could change would be the date to the 15th and then anyone that wants to stay over night could. If you have any ideas let us know.

 

I think the RC Mini group will be going to the dragon on the 15(saturday) for the day, that way those who would like to stay over night can get a room the rest will drive up and drive around the dragon and go back the same day.:smile:

Ok here is the scoop, I asked yucca and the fall dragon is on the 20 thru the 22, the RC mini group will be going up on the 22 (saturday) for the day so mark your calender.

 

Well I just got kicked out of going to the dragon if it is on the 22nd.
Take some pictures and video for me.

 

It's to long of a drive for me to make a day trip out of it so I'll be there a couple days. As Yucca said we are going the weekend of the 21/22. I'll be stopping by his place to pick him up. The rest of the crew will be zooming in from the other 3 corners of the US for the weekend.

 

I think there are small groups going up on several weekends in October. Most of my out-of-state MINI friends are meeting up that 3rd weekend in October but I have heard of others going at different times.
