Whiskey Run

We have put together a whiskey run to the Jack Daniels Distillery on Sept. 18. We will met at the McDonalds on hwy 72 east about 9:00am to get hear from B'ham take I-65 north to Huntsville then take I-565 thru Huntsville and it will turn in to72 east just over the mountain you will see the McDonalds on the left side of the road. You might want to top up your tank because thier is no gas station where we are going till we get to Lynchburg, leaving McDonalds about 10:00am we will travel to Winchester Rd. heading east to Elora Tn. were we will turn left on hwy 121, then turn left on hwy 64 once on 64 we will take a quick right on Fish Hactcher Rd this will take us to Lynchburg Tn.

Once we arrive at the square will heve lunch Heritage House resturant it will be able handle a large group but if you would like something different their is a bar-b-q place and another resturant, if you go to one of the other places please take your radio with you so we can let you know when we are leaving for the tour.

After lunch we will drive over to the distillery for the tour, the tour takes about an hour to hour and half, after the tour we will head back to the square so everybody can shop and look around I would say about an hour or so, again please take your radios with you.

Leaving Lychburg we will take hwy 55 to 64, once on 64 we will branch off to hwy 110 this will take us to Ardmore Tn where those who need to go to huntsville will turn left and those that need to go to B'ham will turn right.

Just to get a around about count so nobody gets left behind if you can make let us know, if your plans fall thru you can still show up, if it rains on that day we will run it on Oct. 2

Stephen

This sounds like a really fun day! We were up in Nashville a few weeks ago and wanted to do the tour but could not fit it into our plans. Count us in for this one!

bodinski, we both know who will burn up the asphalt to catch up to the tail end of a MINI caravan. You da man!

Normalizer, ya'll get it together and come on down. Nothing better than to take up all the parking places in Lynchburg with MINI Coopers. What a sight.

Well if you didn't know by now you should know. I'M IN!!. I would loved to catch the bham group as they come thou cullman again. Anyway I will see everyone then.

I also noitice on bamamini.com that there is another meeting on sept 4th. Well I can't make that one. I will be at Mini of Nashville getting some work done on my Mini. I have been trying for three weeks to get in on saturday and I got in on the 4th. Yep I have had my mini for only about four months and already got 15,000 on it. So time for the oil change. The other reason I can't make it , there is a football game at the same time.

leaving BHAM info

No, this is not a run to the state store. As you have probably already heard we are joining up with the Rocket City MINIs for a ride up to Lynchburg, TN to the Jack Daniels Distillery. The ride will be fun if YOU come along, and YOU will enjoy the tour of the distillery if you have never been before. They have retired farmers in their "over-hauls" that lead you around a walking tour of the whole area from start to finish. The tour guide are full of it, no not Jack Daniels, but the other stuff. It is quite humorous and informative. We will also have lunch, and tour and shop in downtown Lynchburg.

For those of us leaving Bham, we will try to leave at 7:15 from the old Walmart parking lot, the first parking lot on the right after exiting I-65N. We will meetup with the ROcket City folks at about 9:00 am on Hwy 75E after going through Hville on I-565. Bring your two-way radios set on channel 7-21 and if you plan to attend I would like to know so we don't leave you to fend for yourself. If you are not there when we get ready to depart, I will try to call you on your cell phone to be sure we haven't left without you. Please send me an email if you are planning to make the trip up to H'ville from Bham. One MINI Cooper turns heads, but many MINIs stops traffic. Thanks and hope EVERYONE can make it

It's 72E, not 75E after going through Huntsville. Just wanted to make sure the typo didn't confuse anyone.

Make sure your seatbelts work good also. There will be some nice twisties.

See you all there.

My link to Jack Daniels Distillery!

For anyone that has read the story about how I got my Mini on my web site you know that the day I got my Mini, I was also in Nashville to pick up something for work. Well the thing I was picking up was a projector. The projector was for the Jack Daniels Distillery. The company I work for installed a new projector and screen for Jack Daniels Distillery. Anyway my point is that the very first thing I had in my Mini cooper was the projector for Jack Daniels.
Also if you read the story about my Mini you will know that I didn't get the projector back in time to install it on that Friday. So I worked on that Saturday away from my new Mini to get Jack Daniels Theather up and running.
The funny thing is that I was there all day but didn't get to go out and see all of the Distillery. So this will be a good trip for me too.

So that is my link to Jack Daniels Distillery!!

Thanks for sharing the great pix! I'll be in Birmingham on Oct. 20, spending the night at YuccaPatrol's before heading up to the Dragon the next day with sndwave and CruzinChris from the Florida Panhandle (survivors of Ivan)!!
