OK, besides driving twisties, which would obviously be everyone's favorite event at MOTD. What was your top 3 favorite events you did this year?!

I had to think about it the entire way home but have finally decided . . .

1. Ice Cream Run
2. Learning how to clay and wax my MINI
3. Xiek & Scott singing its Raining Men

For me it was a toss up between the Dragon Parade and the Karaoke! The car show was cool too.

In no particular order: (probably could have expanded this to way more than 3)

Sitting on the Wildwood grill porch in a rocking chair, watching Vendor Alley with the Smoky Mountains in the background.

Watching the Panoramic Photo shoot take place.

Just having folks come up to me and say what a great time there were having. Especially hearing the Newbies say how they already are planning on coming back next year.

You know, at one point, Greg and I just sat in the chairs (next to the tree with all the bees...lol) and just sat and soaked it all in. It was cool to sit back, relax and take in the view.

Ol’ boy does pretty good for himself. Not sure how many people actually buy the photo but at a minimum of 250 people buying a minimum of 55 bucks, that’s almost 14K. Not bad for a couple hours of work and a short trip....lol.

I think if he lowered his price a bit, he’d sell more copies... (I still buy one anyway)

Barry, that was Thanks to YOU and all that helped you. GREAT JOB.

Missed the party, missed singing... (which is okay cause I couldn't carry a note in a bucket if I had one.)

I was only able to be there for one day this year, but I'm glad I was able to make the Dragon Parade. It was an awesome experience and many thanks to those who organized it. Hopefully next year I can spend a night or two and get to know some of you.

BTW, did anyone else see the Dodge Neon with the MINI stickers?? What was that all about???

Yes, and I have pics of it. I was told that the guy also has a MINI, but "decided to take the Neon this year."

I dunno. Maybe someone else has more details they can share.

I heard the same thing about some guy that showed up with a "justacooper". He was mentioning he had a WC50 but was afraid of the hail damage so he took the justa instead. (I completely understand because if I thought it was going to hail, ya'll wouldn't have seen my happy ***)

Who knows...

He had Ohio tags so I thought it had to be more than coincidence. I probably would have had a sticker made that said, "I was afraid of the hail so I left my real car at home."

Wink My Top 3

As a Newbee, it was my first trip. I'll list mine from the bottom up.

3. Meeting new friends. What a great group of people.

2. My newbee dragon run. I made the mistake of pulling in 4th in line. Little did I know our fearless leader was about to embark on his 100th run. I had already run the dragon twice, so I figured this run would be a cakewalk. NOT! I really, really, really enjoyed that run.

1. None of you can possibly top this. I was singing Karoke. After singing, "Folsom Prison Blues", another member of our party who had been after me to propose to my partner, Chari, said, "I thought you would propose to her at the end of that song." I responded. "You wanted me to propose to her after singing Folsom Prison Blues?" She asked, "What would be a more appropriate proposal song?" After hemming and hawing a bit, I said, "Willie Nelson - Always on my Mind." The next thing I know Sue is over at the Karaoke jock putting in that song. My bluff was called. When the song came up, I led Chari to the stage, sang "Always on my Mind," to her and proposed to her in front of about 150 of my closet friends. She accepted.

I’m sorry, I was there but a little ripped so I’m afraid I missed that beautiful moment.

Congrats, I wish the two of you the best in the future.
