2009 Schedule is now up!

Got the prelimanry Schedule up and ready. HERE is the link to the main page, from there you can click on the "MOTD 2009" tab or the "2009 LOGO" or you can click HERE to go there directly.

Make sure you click on all the links and check out what we have planned so far. Of course if anyone has a event they want to add, just let me know and I'll get it on there.

Just waiting for a couple of more details and hope to have registration open by the middle of January.

Well judging by what I have listed as "Things to do while at the Dragon"
It appears that I will be pretty busy for a few days.

Monday 27th
  • Pack MINI to the gills and then some.
Tuesday 28th
  • Drive up to the Dragon around 9am
  • Check in at Fontana Village around 12noon
  • Unpack beer, wine, liquor, food and clothes
  • Pre-MOTD Dinner at Lynn's Restaurant 5:30pm
  • Wine Sampling (location TBA)
Wednesday 29th
  • Breakfast at Tapoco Lodge 9am
  • Run the Dragon with video rolling
  • Pickup MOTD registration at 2pm
  • Run the Dragon with Video rolling
  • Welcome Dinner at 5pm
  • Wine sampling (right after dinner - Location TBA)
Thursday 30th
  • Conduct a Dragon Orientation at 8am
  • Run the Dragon at 9am
  • Zip Line at 9:30am
  • Dinner Drive to Lynn's at 5pm
  • Dragon Bingo at 7pm
  • Way Motor Works Party 8pm-ish
Friday 1st of May
  • Dragon Parade at 8am
  • Topless On The Dragon 8:45am
  • Car Show 2pm
  • Dinner Drive to Rivers End at 4:00pm
  • Brew Swap at 6pm
  • Drive In at 8pm
Saturday 2nd
  • Panoramic Photo at 10am
  • Ice Cream Run at 11:15am
  • Farewell Dinner at 6pm
  • Midnight on the Dragon at 11pm run at 12midnight
Sunday 3rd
  • Pack up and checkout with tons of new memories and friends from all over.
  • Start the count down clock for MOTD 2010
Looks like I'm going to need a few more days... Maybe someday it will be a week long event...

I like the day drives that are on the '09 schedule. Thanks to the volunteers that are leading the drives!

Just added another day drive on Friday to Dillsboro and the Jarrett House for Lunch.
I also added a condensed schedule in the first post.

Got another volunteer and we just added a Heinzelmannchen Brewery and Lunch Drive on Friday!!

How come the only link to MOTD is burried at the bottom of the forum page? I knew the link had to exist somewhere and spent some time looking for it. With only 2 months to go, surely it should be more prominent with a link at the top of the home page, as in prior years.

MOTD is not being organized by Mark of NAM this year. So it just gets a forum in the National events section.

Just added another drive to the Event Schedule. Sir Tyne has volunteered to host a new drive that goes along Lake Fontana and ends up at the Bridge of the "Road to Nowhere" (no, this is no gotcha media trick and it's not in Alaska ) HERE are the details!!

Back in 1996 the wife and I hiked that trail, which includes the tunnel which I believe is about 1200 ft long. Kinda spooky when you're about half way through. You can see "light at the end of the tunnel" from either end, but can't see your hand held in front face.
