Let them send their business to Octane Guy If a lack of cleanliness is allowed there's no competitive advantage to be gained from it.

I couldn't win in five years of competing against less than 10 Mini in my local British car show...I doubt I have a snow ***** chance in hell against 500...besides, everyone knows a red Mini always wins...

But it sure sound like a must see...

Red always wins in a peoples choice. No questions asked. If there is more than one, the red mini with the most british flags wins.

I got beat out by a red mini, that wasn't even clean, and was the only other one in the mini class due to peoples choice (and the fact that he was a club member). however, the next week at a judged show my black mini owned him into next year

I think red is the colour most people expect to see a MINI in so it gets the most attention, sad really because I prefer the one-year only colours for their rareity and BRG for it's history (And because it's British Racing Green, could there be a better named colour for a British car?)

Happens to me every year... Except this year, a new 07 right off the lot won our class and even with seven positions for trophies in the Mini group, I didn't even make that...must be my stealth motif...

I got a show tomorrow and I took the day off so I could spend every minute detailing the Mini just in case that red one has the guts to show up again

no, it has to do with that fact of who ever judges doesnt know squat or if its peoples choice those people dont know squat.

And that's not unusual...last year, I place 2nd next to a freekn filthy dealer owned Lotus Elise that some lucky guy brought to the show at the Michigan SAE show! (it was raining all day but some of us washed up our cars in vain anyway) Oh well...I just go for the laughs now...kinda like wondering if Hillary will win next year...

General POst to those interested in car show

Ozarkroots here.
The MOTD6 car show is in the early planning stages and some exciting things are in the works.
The planning committee is working hard on defining classifications, judging and PRIZES. If all goes as planned, the prizes for this event will NOT be $10 trophies like many club events.

The most important goal for the committee is to have an event that is fun for everyone and not taken too seriously. We hope to have it on Friday afternoon, next to the adventure center where everyone can stroll by and see some real nice cars, ask questions and just have a good time. BrewSwapGuy is going to have his event right after ours at the adventure center.

If you have questions or suggestions post them here so everyone can see or PM me or one of the other committee members.
