New Shoes for the Dragon

I just bought a new set of shoes for my baby!

Can't wait to get them, and get them mounted!

Replacing my 175/65-R15 Contis with 195/55-R15

BF Goodrich g-Force Sport

This is the time of year I always buy my MINI some new rubber too.

You'll love having the extra wide contact patch and the performance rubber on the dragon!

Good looking tires, Steve.

My Mini's got a new sound. This is a glasspack welded to the stock cat-back exhaust pipe and a tail pipe welded to it, with a stock tip installed. I love the look and it sounds great.

How many days till we leave for the Dragon?

I predict you're going to love those tires. I've been running those in the summer and can't say enough about them. Relatively inexpensive, stick like glue, and very quiet during hard cornering.

Sweet, that is my hope!

I did way too much research on the tires.

I just put those on 2 weeks ago. They are amazing!

Albeit I was coming from bald run-flats, these babies suck to the ground in dry and wet. And for the price... who could beat it!

(although... should you be in a climate where you get occasional snow... they aren't the greatest then)

I can't wait to try them out on the Dragon!

Well right now I have my Hankook iPike W409s on the car, and need to get them off. I will be putting the BFGs on in place of winter tires, so they should feel.... awesome. Before the winter tires I had bald 175 contis.

It snows here, but that is why I have the winter tires.

I'm glad Shankrabbit mentioned it, as much as I love the BFG's they really do suck in the snow. But then my Blizzaks really suck in twisties. Everything works fine around here as long as I don't get my seasons mixed up.

I'm supposed to order a new set today.... but still can't decide between the BFG Sports and the Dunlop Direzzas
(Although at this point ANYTHING'll be better than the bald-ish Pirelli RF's)

Take a look at these test results.

The BFGs beat the Dunlops.

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests/...ay.jsp?ttid=78

Plus Discount Tire, has the BFGs with a $40 mail-in rebate until the end of May!

I hear you, unfortunately, I have to consider cost as well The BFG's are cheaper at Tire Rack ($98) than Discount Tire with the Rebate, BUT, Tire Rack has the Direzza's for $86 PLUS a $50 rebate when you buy 4, effectively dropping the cost to $73.50 (Yes it took me a minute to figure that out ) So the $24.50 per tire more is just enough to make the decision difficult

I am sure you factored shipping? DT is free, TR not so much.

Just FYI if you hadn't thought of it.

Also DT will match TR price, making the BFGs $418 for a set of 4 after the rebate. ( I also think the road hazard lowers as it is a percentage based on tire price) so it may be even less. (now $10.50/tire diff)

The plot thickens.

I will be at the dragon with a new look. I will be the only Dark Silver Cooper there. Bumpers, side grilles, wing and single outlet tailpipe (on the passenger side) to complete the look.

Just ordered Rudy some new shoes from Tirerack. Ditching the runflats and going with Goodyear Eagle F1 GS D3.
