I want to do MOTD '07 so bad

We were not able to do MOTD '06. And with my job, we will not be able to do MOTD '07.

DANG JOB keeps me from having fun with my MINI!

But then again it makes the payments, so that I can drive MIB!

There were some kids there, not alot. I choose to leave my 14 year at home. Fortunately I have a great babysitter in my Mother-in-Law. There is alot or winding roads, so make sure your kids are OK with that in the back seat. It was nice for me and my wife to have some kid-free time though.

My daughter does love going up there, we go every October in the Mini-Van for 14 years now.

Bottom line for me, if I had to choose between Dragon with kids or no Dragon. My daughter would be going with us.

OK, I may be a "First Timer" at the Dragon, but I grew up in West Virginia so I know what a turn is. Anyone that has driven Rt 50 out of Grafton East into Maryland knows what I mean.

Many of us booked lodging as we checked out in May this year, so booking this "early" is really not so early!

For those with kids, there are so many great things for kids to do at Fontana Village and in the general area, do not hesitate to bring them! FV offers horseback riding, miniature golf, swimming, etc. Lots of things for families to do when they aren't out enjoying the beautiful roads.

I definitely made sure I reserved a cabin this year, already have roomies and everything. I got lucky getting a room last year not hearing about the event until january I made my reservations in february. So definitely get on any waiting lists early. And there always is camping...

Fontana Village

Any of you folks know if there is still available lodging in Fontana Village?

If not have any of you stayed anywhere in the Robbinsville area?

This will be our 1st Dragon, we are in our 60s and have to make one of these things, in our new (Has not arrived yet, still in body shop mini Plant) mcs.

Thanks in advance

MotD 2006 was my 1st and I really had a good time. We already reserved a cabin for MotD 2007.

As previously mentioned, you'll want to call Fontana and see what they have. You might end up with one of their timeshare cabins which is what I had this year. We really didn't spend too much time in there other than sleeping.

Rubbish!! We got married in SC the weekend before MOTD '06 and made a point to attend for at least a day....albeit in the Subaru. We got to meet some cool people (Randy and Peter from M7 etc)!!

We're planning to make it back next year, this time with two MINI's

See post #7 in this thread. You can call Fontana and if they are full you can go on a wait list. Lots of people will cancel between now and May. In the mean time might want to look into the other lodgings in post #7

I'm considering going in 07...but I haven't seen any official info! Just the ramblings in this thread. All the official event pages are still about 06. Relectant to book so early, especially without any official announcement.
