Questions Re: Local gas stations..

Anybody know if the gas stations down there are fairly modern (like a mobil on the run or exxon).. reason I ask is because my father has graciously lent me his "speed pass" and I wanted to make sure I'll be able to find a station that has that capability down there..

Texaco @ Fontana, can't remember what it is at the crossroads, Citgo maybe?

Well you gotta' realize that they have to bring in gas by wagon train and mules... And you think gas is expensive in the real world...

What I have been told, is that fontanna really doesn't want all of us to fill up at their little spot since that is all they got. There is a bigger town about 30 miles away, I think Robinsville? that has more gas stations. If we all fill up in Fontanna, there will be NO gas left... So watch how low you get on the consumption.

Gas up in Robbinsville (not 30 miles away, more like 10). There is one tiny station at the entrance to Fontana, but I bet it can't handle the volume of need. The gas station at the Crossroads of Time, at the southern end of the Dragon frowns upon cars drinking up their fuel...they like to save it for the bikers.
Here's a suggestion...before you hit the Dragon, fill up. That might take some actual planning and map reading. If you're going on a drive, fill up the night before.
Gas will be a precious commodity, and I wouldn't be shocked to see $3.50 a gallon for premium...maybe even more.

Trust me Fontana doesn't care one bit, as a matter of fact they will probably schedule an extra truck of fuel for the weekend. Keep in mind the more we buy the more $$$ they make.

If that's the case, I will fill with 89 and bring a few bottles of Outlaw Octane Booster.

LOL!... I'll use regular while down there.. (actually every few tanks I'll use regular and it helps reset the ECU.. little trick I read on a forum once.. gives the car that "fresh from the dealer tuneup feel"..)

No, it's because that it runs worse on regular, and then when you put premium back in it runs the way it should, so it feels better, than it did with regular.

All mind games, just like people can feel the extra HP with an intake or exhaust. People can't feel the power, they feel better throttle response, and the sound tricks the mind.

Last year the Fontana gas station as well as the Crossroads station both were out of premium on Sunday when everyone was heading home. There were some folks who were close to running on vapors on Saturday night thinking they would be gassing up the next day. My suggestion is that after tearing up the roads on Saturday, gas up before heading back to enjoy the farewell dinner (and perhaps gassing up there too )

Don't know how accurate this is (price wise), but if you go to this site and type in a location, it will give you all the gas stations and there current rates

The chili cookoff is where the 105 octane comes from.

No doubt, gas from the chili cook-off is VERY explosive.

There is a little "mom&pop" gas/country store about half way to Robbinsville.
