Well I just found out some bad news today, I have a High School golf tournament on the weekend of the dragon. That kinda bites. What also does is that Prom is on the same weekend as the Dragon. That REALLY bites. I just hope I don't stumble on some talen or a girlfriend by then...

What do u think I should do?

Mikey, there are other, more casual gatherings at the Dragon: Summertime Slayers in July and Fall of the Dragon in October. Don't miss your golf tourney or Prom! MINIs on the Dragon will happen every year. You can go next time, but your Prom is only going to happen this one time, correct? That is my take on it, anyway.
Well generally I have next year yet, b/c I'm a Junior. I want to go to it for sure though. It all depends how everything is two weeks or so before. I can blow off the golf tournament easy, but it was a whammy when I found out Prom was on the 5th.

Live the HS life, there is an end of june MINI gathering at the dragon for all of us who have exams the week of the Dragon. Plus there is always nrxt year.

well, my thought are as follows:
prom is neat but, if that's one of the biggest events in your life that should raise a very big red flag. and even better it's your junior prom, don't sweat missing it.
this might be the kicker. if you have a really cool girl, maybe she'd go with you to the dragon. it's a dry county so that should be a plus with the parents. at any angle i'm sure you could work this to your advantage.
lastly, it's a fun time and it last for days unlike prom. not just an overpriced dinner and limo ride to party that is over supervised.
if that works out think about the trust both sets of parents will have in you next year. that's the one that counts and you'll be free to do anything.
when i say anything i don't mean that in a bad way.

Dry? I knew it!
Well I mean yea it's not on the top of my list of things to do, well yea it is, but it's not like my one goal this year. Believe me though if "it" doesn't happen, I'll definetly be going down there!

ChiliCooperS,
Personally I never went to my prom or cared to, wasn't my thing.
But the fact that you even posted this question, tells me you should go. If it was not important to ya, you wouldn't have asked. And like the other have said, there be many more dragons

Ahh you stumbled into familar territory. This is the reason I did not go last year and trust me I was really looking forward to it! But that said I would have skipped my junior prom to go to the dragon!
See at our school, the Prom is "the Prom" there is no Junior Prom. The only restriction is that you have to be a Junior or a Senior to go to it. No Sophomores or Freshman are allowed in the door.
I just don't want to give it up this year then risk I won't have a date next year.

Never went to prom, never cared to. In fact, I actually started a Non-Prom at our school and a big bunch of us went to dinner together and then had a big bonfire party at the lake, way more fun and no pantyhose needed
My son is now getting close to that age, and if he wants to go to Prom then that's fine, but I won't even ask him about it.
