Anyone else staying at Blue Water Mountain Lodge for the Dragon. My wife and I will be staying there, this our first Dragon and look forward to meeting you's!

 

Welcome to NAM, snooter! I am not familiar with the Blue Water Mountain Lodge. How far is it from The Dragon? If you are too far from Fontana Village or Deal's Gap/Crossroads of Time, you will find you may be driving pretty far to participate in the various activities (to be revealed soon).

Did you go to the Dragon website www.tailofthedragon.com to check out the local lodging?

It's in Robinsville, about 18 miles from Topoco Lodge (about 40 min. mountain driving time) We used to own a cabin in Ellijay,GA. So we're kinda use to driving abit to get anywhere in the moutains. Besides when I finally get my mini, I'm sure I be looking for any excuse to drive.

Plus this place is right on a lake with a view from our room. The lady who took my reservation said so guy from DCmini who helps organize the Dragon stays their, so I guess they'll be at least one other Mini person there.

Can't wait to check out all the activities

 

My wife and I will be staying there. I believe at least 4 of the 8 rooms are MINI folk so far.

 

My husband and I are staying there, so is another another DCMM member and I believe a couple from the Chicago area who stayed there with us last year. It is a small, quiet lodge right on the lake. Very peaceful. Nice to be away (when you want to) from all the activity at Fontana. It is not quite in Robbinsville, it is about midway between Robbinsville and Fontana. About 25 mintues driving, but great fun roads in between.

I spoke with Maury last night. I have my usual room. Arriving on the 3rd. At this time departing on Sunday; however that may be extended. I look forward to staying there again.

Can't wait to meet you all. Just got my Mini last week and I feel like a teenager again.

 

I bet there'll be 8 MINIs parked in the drive all 3 nights.

If those staying at the BWL want to hang out on the porch with some drinks Thursday or Saturday night I think we'd be down for that. Friday night is the Brew Swap so I won't be back till late.

 

My son (Christian) and I (Ed) booked the last room at the lodge, #3. This will be the first Dragon for us and we are really looking forward to it. We also look forward to meeting some of our past, present, and future clients. We will be setting up a booth to promote cooper flags and our products.

Hi! My husband who has had a mini for about six months and I have booked a room at the lodge. this will be our first event. Irving will be 60 this year but still wants to drive the dragon. We are looking forward to meeting you.

So this means what? I guess I must only have a few more years before I hang up my driving togs. I hope not. My mother is still driving at 83 y/o. We just have to make sure we don't put her in too slow of a car because she needs the "get up an go" to stay out of trouble. I know she is the exception, rather than the rule, but 60? Don't let hubby see this thread.
