Would you, could you at the Dragon?

Okay, so we're on the fence. And no we're not thinking of doing a Dr. Suess book signing...

We want to get some feedback on if 2006 Dragon attendees want us to bring a cross section of our product line down for display/sale.

www.outmotoring.com

If we get enough positive response we can go ahead and make plans one way or the other. Last year Triple C and Motorswag came down but I don't think Triple C got a good response with their large Rig, but the inside stuff looked like it got some traffic.

Please leave a reply so we can start getting feedback, also please note the few items that you would like to see. We would love to bring everything down, but would most likely need to limit it so we could manage everything.

Also, would outside be better than inside for setup?

Best,

I'm always ready to lay down green for a new MINI shirt...maybe long sleeves if you have them, it's cool there in May. Might I recommend bringing smallish items...since we will all probably be packed to the brim already. I'd also like the MINI Cooper Toy Set...don't have that either! An umbrella would be nice too....And knowing me..if you brought that ladies watch, I'd HAVE to buy it!! Inside or outside- I've got my AMEX!!

I would suggest bringing some clothing items. I would particularily like to see some of the Mini hats.

I am hoping someone will come to the Dragon with Bonnet stripes (as well as the ability to install them. I have always wanted them but never got around to having them put on.

Hats would be cool and would probably stack, pack and sell easily.

Yes!

I hoped to spend some $ at a bunch of vendors at the Dragon. Was my first time and I anticipated more vendor stuff.

Triple C was only there about a day and a half weren't they? I bet most folks didn't know they were leaving that early for another event. I happened to get there Wed and chatted. Found out they were only there for a short time and bought two or three hats, a shirt or two and some pins I think.

MOST of what they had was not MINI specific though... I wonder how the MINI specific ones did.

I had hoped to find a number of items, but the selection of stuff was pretty small. And if everybody brings mostly clothes then I'm only likely to buy a couple items. Now if some vendors have say, euro parcel shelves, front braces, a sway bar, iridium plugs, milltek exhaust etc. I'm likely to part with much more cash than if I have mostly apparel to shop.

Heck, I got a Alta CAI and pulley both at a pulley party on impulse purchase. Went to watch and ended up...

I'll do my part, I promise to be ready to spend if I see some toys.

If someone would be there to help/do the install, I'd very seriously consider a rear sway... I could even pre-order...

We will most likely accept orders on our site before the event which could be hand delivered at the Dragon. If that sounds enticing, we will post something here a few weeks before the event along with a code so we know to bring it with us (instead os ship it) as well as subtract shipping charges from the total.

Also, I am sure Way from Whalen (or someone else??) motor works will be doing installs and If someone brings tools, I can talk someone through it. I'm not insured to do the work myself, although I've hundreds of hours of work to our MINI as well as the 5 Sciroccos, GTI, Corrado, Jetta, Range Rover, Classic Mini and a few other cars over the years...

Here's the short list so far:
parcel trays, hats, shirts, sway bar ??, Intakes?? (which brands??), brake pads, rotors, lines, fluid, end links, valve caps, etc...

Feel free to continue adding to the list...

Best,

Brake pads and rotors are a very good idea with all the hard driving at the Dragon. People cannot have enough MINI-themed tee shirts, caps, hoodies, or totes, either!

i think a tire comparo would be great there. maybe a chance for people to drive the dragon with diff. tire makers or even the same company but a variety of their tires.

hello Alex at the tire rack, are you listening?

I think Battle Cattle's list is great!
I would really like to get driving lights and have them installed. I think that would be of interest to others out there like myself who are nervous about DIY and anything electrical!
Of course, anything and everything with MINIs on it. Coffee mugs, totes, cool keychains would be easy to transport, pens, hats. Will anyone be making MINI/Dragon '06 hats or shirts? I think alot of folks would like to have those.

Annette

Waylen installed my Alta pulley at the Dragon last year, so one vote for him. I wouldn't mind a sway bar this year, though I am not sure if I am ready to spring for one or not.

That said, my personal opinion is that you would do a lot better with a lot of small tchotchkes than with the heavy stuff. Given that I park on the DC streets, I always need new valve stem caps, for example. And put me down for one more vote for a parcel shelf. That under-the-ebrake thingie would be nice, too.

Mini specific items are best, but I suspect car care items would go like hotcakes, too. Dragoneers are a very vain bunch.
