The Official Countdown Thread

Last year I began this thread 30 days out from the Dragon. Today, I'm beginning this thread at the 30 days out from when *I* leave for the dragon, but the dragon begins in

31 DAYS!!!

Ok, so much like the waiting for the MINI to cross the pond, I begin my final wait for my trip to the Dragon.

Checklist:
Purchase GPS for geocaching --- check
Make Chili
Pack car
Pack Boy
DRIVE to the Dragon

Also, we now have 301 peoples -- YIPPIE!!! Do we think we will hit 350? What about 400? Don't forget to watch the deadlines --- you don't want to miss out on anything.

How will I get any work done in the next 30 days????

Hugs to you all,
PB

Do you think I should put Boy in a duffle or a rolly bag?? (kidding)

um....you think that *IF* I were to be SO nice as to wash your car, that I'd make sure I had a wool mitt? What you don't like a stiff scrub brush? I wonder what 'bug juice' could do to Cosmo's finish????

Hmmm, what's that I was told once -- if it's broke, hit it with a hammer; if that doesn't work, paint it; if that doesn't work, polish it? Where's my hammer???

Hugs,
PB

Hee hee! My countdown is 3 days until roadtrip!

Packing, lists, shopping for roadsnax, etc., has commenced! Heading for Arizona to see sis on Thursday, then......eventually I'll arrive at the Dragon just in the nick of time!

How many pairs of shoes? DON'T ASK!

Hmmm. well in my case it would be at least 4. Boots for woods, sandals for day, tennys for driving, more sandals for different color outfit. I bet I could think of another pair if I needed to.

Updated Countdown: 30 Days

Yep, it is now officially 30 days until the Dragon.

I know that Clover may pack about 6 pairs of shoes --- but I'm willing to bet that she'll wear 2 pair the whole time she's at the dragon -- a pair of black flipflops and a pair of COOL driving shoes.

I however am in the midst of planning my meals for the drive, what I'm cooking in the cabin (yes, biscuits for breakfast daily), and of course the masterpiece of chili!!!

Hugs to all and I'll see you in a mere 30 days.

mmmmm. . . i like to sop my biscuits in Golden Eagle Brand syrup, the pride of Alabama!

And not to worry about me this year! I have fresh new brakes thanks to the friendly folks at detroit tuned who will also be installing my new pulley and Unichip so I can finally keep up with koolmini on the straights!

But you have to MIX the golden eagle with soft butter for the exact right flavor combination....YUMMY!!!

Also -- can some one go slap Amazon.com around a bit for me --- I'm, not so patiently, waiting for my NEW GPS to arrive. But despite that it SAYS it ships within 24 hours -- the estimated ship date is 4/10 -- what gives?

Hugs,
PB

doesn't amazon say that their items "usually" ship within 24 hours?

"Usually" it never actually happens that way for me!

usually doesn't mean 6 days later -- EVER. Plus last night they were offering to get me my GPS by 4/6 if I ordered in the next 18 hours and paid the overnight shipping -- how the heck is that accomplished if it won't ship until the 10th --- bending space and time again -- I see.

Hugs,
PB

cancel your order and order from one of the dedicated gps stores.

Hey, umm, I was just kidding about the car washing stuff. And about spraying your car the other day, uhh, my fingers slipped?

So... what time was breakfast?

Ok, I did just get a note back from Amazon (frankly I'm shocked at the response) -- while they didn't actually address my REAL question/problem. But they did upgrade my shipping to "standard" from "FREE" and that seems to be cutting a week off my wait.

What did I get? After some searching I found an eTrex Legend for the price of a Venture. So, I'm pretty excited. I wanted an entry model that I wouldn't want to replace after my first few hunts. So here's hoping I did well.

Breakfast? Time? Well, it's early -- we get up and moving with boy by 7:30am. If you think you might be joining us, let me so I can save you some coffee and a biscuit or two.

Hugs,
PB
