ARB linkage has just failed

Hello everyone,

I hope you're all doing well.

Unfortunately, I encountered an issue last night as the driver's side ARB linkage failed. Thankfully, it seems like a straightforward fix. However, I've observed some marks on the strut where it sits in the hub (knuckle), and I'm trying to determine whether these are witness marks indicating movement. I'm concerned that the strut might have shifted excessively or become loose, potentially contributing to the linkage failure.

Interestingly, last year, the driver's side spring snapped and was replaced by Mini. I'm now wondering if these marks could be related to the previous repair work. Despite this, the marks appear quite fresh, leaving me uncertain about their origin.

Any insights or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Who would of thought they're made of plastic.

If you had the spring replaced on that corner, the shop would have removed the strut, and also would have removed that sway bar link. My “gut” says the link was broken or compromised at that time, and they cobbled it back together.
