Question Electrical weirdness

A while back my driver's windows stopped working after I came out to find all of them down and the sunroof open. I checked all the fuses and connections ran a scan and saw the switch was no good and replaced it. Everything great, wife happy. About a week ago, was in the bank drive through and couldn't get the window down. I'll go through the same diagnosis steps, but this has also affected the changeble lighting. It won't cycle through the colors as before. I hate to write this, but is it possible the footwell module has a fault? If so, what codes would indicate that? And if it is, do the places you send them off to that fix them work?

Do my best to stay away from Pensacola MINI service. Great sales team, but service, nah.

Thanks,

David Wilson

How old is the battery? Does it hold charge?
That's the first thing I check when there are any electrical gremlins appear.

Thanks for the reply. Battery's about 1.5 years old, and has operated flawlessly since I changed it out. I'll check the connections though and the output tomorrow.

I used the scanner and reinitialized the window regulator and the window went up and down twice. But it didn't respond to the switch. I took the switch out and checked the connection, making sure it was secure. Still no joy.

Next thing is to pull the panel off under the passenger side dash and check the connections to the FRM, and after that check fuses and replays to see if they're seated.

I've had no instances of water leaking inside that I'm aware of.

Electrical issues are tough.

Update - I used the scanner to reinitialize the windows and they worked, so the regulators are good. I ordered another switch (2nd one in two years) and hope that fixes the issue.

Also update - the ring of leds around the central round display doesn't display totally except when starting up initially. Then it switches to orange, fading to red, then to white. Weirdness.

Could this be grounds related? Or is it the footwell module glitching?

Thanks,

David
