Hi All....some of you already knew I have my driver side pwr window problem on the 8th day on 2008 MCS ownership. Brought it to the dealer, they took 4 1/2 hours to "fix" the problem. The said on the "Mini Bulletin" some one has similar problem. They followed the procedure to correct it and it worked. But same procedure didn't work for my Mini. They told me to go home after wasting 4 1/2 hours in the waiting room and said expect a phone call from the "Engineers department". One week has gone...how long do I have to wait?

Recap: the window should go up or down 1/4 of an inch as soon as you open the door or close the door.....not working. When I flip the toggle switch it goes all the way up then all the way down by itself...had to try many times before it stays up so I can drive in the rain.

ps. passenger side works perfectly.

Mini Central Service called about recent service for 1-5 rating...I gave 1 for the service. I think it was mean and not fair for the mechanics but I was p.o. :-)

sounds like the door latch is faulty, was the car locking/unlocking normally ? I can't imagine there's that much between the latch & the power window module, but they don't hire the most experienced techs. The local dealership here said they only used UTI grads, which're about the dimmest bulbs this side of Jiffy Lube.

Everything else works as normal. Just wouldn't go up or down 1/4.

The dealer is ignoring me...no call from any body yet.

ps. agree on the mechanics....I have met all of the yet....but so far it's true.
