Hi, we just received our Mini Countryman Hybrid and sometimes, when petrol engine start, on light throttle, engine is pretty noisy with like "click" noise. Is it normal? 95% of the time, petrol engine is really quiet. Thanks

 

Have you owned a vehicle with direct injection before? If not, you could just be hearing the high pressure fuel injectors. They tend to be noisiest just above idle.

 

It sounds to me like you may be describing the automatic start-stop feature. Does this shudder happen when releasing the brake while stopped?

 

I think the noise you are describing is normal. I have a Countryman base with the same 3 cylinder engine and its a noisy engine from my experience.
