2016 weird codes and ghosts
Hey everyone, my wife has a 2016 Cooper s countryman all4. We got a check engine light and the code came back as temp cooling. So I wanted to test the ect sensor before changing the thermostat but I can’t find the sensor. Help!!!! Also the fan started staying on for at least 10 min after she parks even if she runs down the street and back. Thanks for any help.
What's the exact error you got?
I just changed the water pump, water pipe and thermostat on a 2010 Clubman S, 4 cylinder. I think it has the same engine as your car. A pain of a job!
I would start by checking the coolant temperature with an OBDII reader. I got a Creator c501, it's only $70, works with BMW/Mini and will give you the temperature reading.
The thermostat removal/installation guide on Pelican will show you how to get to the sensor. The fan may stay on because the computer doesn't know if the engine is hot or cold, so it just runs for a while.
