You can't remove it without removing the whole black part. Once the whole black part is removed, you have access to the clips that allow you to remove the silver part
Thanks for the info Mas. I guess I'll have to look into how hard it is to remove the bumpers and side pieces.

just wanted to give you a heads up, I just removed the silver part to wrap it and it isn’t that bad at all. Just make sure you order 6-8 of the little plastic screws for the bottom because you’ll likely damage them trying to get them out. And use some small pry bars wrapped in a towels to pry the trim away from the body. Once the whole black part is off, you can pop out the pins that hold the silver part in and press the tabs out from the inside. The black trim piece can now be reattached to the car while you wrap the silver part since you only have to press it in and push the pins back in.
You’ll need an 8mm socket, SMALL flathead screwdrivers (but bigger than eyeglass size), a few small pry bars, a trim removal tool, and a T10???? bit for the small trim screw behind the rear door.
I just wrapped all four plastic pieces last weekend... with the bits on. Wasn't ideal but wasn't in the mood to find out what plugs I needed to replace as I took them off.
Thanks for the heads up though. Might try taking them off next year if the vinyl gets to wrecked over the winter. Might add a layer of satin laminate over top.

Thanks, I’m glad the rims came with the car because I couldn’t justify spending that much extra for them. Did you wrap the roof rails too? How difficult was that? That’s next on my list and I absolutely am not going to remove them.
I did wrap the roof. Just had enough material when I did them earlier in the summer... just not long enough pieces.
I did it in three sections and used knifeless tape.
Started at the back sides and then top, one piece for the bottom middle and sides and one for the top and then the front section in three.
Small over lap.
I'm not sure how it would have gone if I tried in two big pieces.

Interesting. I've found contours to be pretty easy with a blow dryer and a second pair of hands, but the sharp contours of the roof rails looks daunting
A extra pair of hands would help but dont have around me.
The deep groove that runs the length was okay.
I was initially was going to try in one piece and seam it along the bottom.
