F60 TPMS Readout Annoying

TPMS Readout Annoying

Anyone else having a similar issue? No matter how precisely I set all 4 tires to 32 psi, as recommended, reset the TPMS, they invariably end up like this. FL highest, FR/RR in-between, RL 1-2 psi lower. Maybe it's the OCD in me, but it just seems wrong!

That was annoying me with my 2019 F57, too! But I discovered the other day, after a 26-mile drive home, that the two front pressures matched, and the two rear pressures matched! They weren't what I set them to with a mechanical gauge, but at least they matched each other.

I don't have this on my Mini, so can't explain. But my curiosity makes me wonder if when first set everything is the same and after driving a while they change? Probably more heat generated in the front tires due to turning and braking, which (I would think) would increase the psi readings.

Check it manually once a week. I never look at the digital readout as it would annoy me too. Given it's digital and may be very accurate it will never be the same all round. Probably rounds up to the nearest digit also. So if you're at 31.6 it will read 32... just assuming.

Well, on my MINI F56, I was able to get all four to read and stay at similar levels, not to mention the fact is I was able to code temperature readings at each wheel, and only when the temperature differences were significant, would the pressures be correspondingly larger as well. Coding for temperatures in the F60, does not seem to work. This was quite a surprise.

Driving definitely raises the tire pressures, which is why MINI and every other manufacturer tells you to check the pressures when cold. I've seen the pressures climb more than 4 psi after even a relaxed drive home on a temperate day.

I'm speaking more about how the different tires don't stay all the same value, cold or hot. I agree, driving makes them get hotter. That's a fact.

under pressure

I can't complain about the tire pressure monitor. They usually match my tire gauge. I have one of those digital accu-pressure gauges and its pretty good.
I run 35-36 rear, and 34 fronts and they usually match up pretty good.

I bought a new mechanical gauge, will see how it does.
i seem to have lost a gauge somewhere around here to. They seem to have feet .

I think I did't explain the situation well. I set all 4 to 32 psi cold, as recommended, and verify the pressures with a gauge, but invariably, while driving, the RL becomes the lowest of the 4, the FL the highest, and the FR/RR stay equal to one another. Is this simply normal, accounting for a solo driver's weight distribution? Hope so. Probably so.

Probably not driver's weight distribution, your suspension would level that out. It could be that your brakes heat up at different temps. maybe even heat coming off the engine heating the tires differently, or even the brakes cooling at different rates. I would not be worried about it though.

After owning the car for about two months now the TPMS light came on yesterday. Checked all 4 tires, they were 26/27 lb. I used two different gauges to fill the tires with air and both read 32 on all 4 tires. Hit the reset and drove the till the reset was completed and tires read exactly 30 on each tire. Check again with tire gauges and all tires read 31/32 l guess +or- 2 is not bad. Not sure which one is more accurate, the car or my gauges.
