Vanity Mirror Bulbs->LEDs

Has anyone figured out how to access the bulbs contained within the sun visors?

NEWTIS.info does NOT seem to show our version. The ones they depict look like BMW X1's setup (illumination from above onto mirrors).

Ours don't even seem to have a tiny little gap in the middle of the bottom edge, as in older MINIs, to pry up from.

Thanks.

From German F56 website

Below, my before-and-after. A worthy upgrade! Usable illumination now.

Figured it out:
Not for the faint of heart!

It's very effective (unlike the worthless stock bulbs), plus they typically aren't seen, as they're rarely needed. These were the only bulbs that seemed feasible for use under the cloudy diffuser, as they fire in three directions, unlike the vast majority of others of this type, which only fire forwards. There were no other white light colors available. I'm okay with it.

I was thinking of getting mine from superbrightleds.com. I have been using them for years. If you don't like the bluish hue...you can get these ones which have a soft white variation:

I use Superbrightleds, too, but somehow, I missed these there.

The original bulbs are a ***** to remove, until I discovered a brilliant (pardon the pun) hack:
Use the smallest air hose tubing, and insert the end over the bulb, and it will pull right out. Nothing else worked for me in terms of tools, until that.
