I didn't know these were so limited... Ideally I wanted to order one now and have it ready by the end of January (I'll have the $ then) but my dealer just flat out says they can't sell me one nor can they order me one. I did go in a couple months ago and they told me hopefully but now it's a no. They are frustrated too because they know I want to buy. Tried to get me into a regular Countryman but no thanks. I want a plug in.

Thought I'd search some forums to see if it might be worth my time to try another dealer but it seems not! I told the guy I'm dealing with I'll wait for a 2019 model if I have to but I don't know what to do. This is the car I had been set on buying. The Mini website certainly doesn't say you can't buy one...

There are a few at dealers around the country. Have you looked for any that might match your interest? Do Mini Dealerships ship cars between each other to help with situations like this?

I agree with this! There are a reasonable number of Countryman S E's in dealers around the country - may not be exactly what you want - but take a look at Autotrader.com and you can easily do a search for the S E trim. You need to use bimmer.work to examine the build details because they are almost never complete on auto trader, but auto trader does list the VINs which you can plug into bimmer.work (hooray for the internet!). Per my dealer, some of the ones listed on auto trader are customer special orders that have been sold/arrived but have not yet been delivered. Your dealer will not be able to trade for those. But others have been sitting on another dealer lot for some time and aren't sold, and may be available for you.

I found one that was close to what I wanted on auto trader, told my dealer here in Austin about it, and am picking up a new S E on Saturday! They got it from the other dealer in just a couple days (it was in Houston). I was worried about the fate of the $4000 tax credit and decided the one I could find was close enough to what I would've custom ordered. It is a different color, but still fun.

I would say you can't probably get a very good deal on these (at least in Austin where they've sold as many PHEV's as they can get), relative to potential discounts on other non-JCW F60's, but the current offers on miniusa.com and bmwgroupfleet.com (for corporate partnerships) do apply to the PHEV.

Good luck!

Mine is finally in production! Estimated completion date of the 28th. I think I have a shot of it making it to the dealership before the end of the year.

Thanks. I did do a search on auto trader and found a couple. But my problem is my dealer says they outright can't sell me one. They have one on the lot. No sale. He told me they sold one other one a couple of months ago and "got in trouble" from Mini for selling it. That makes no sense to me! I'll be calling them back soon to see what they have to say.

Thanks! Have you been enjoying yours??

I checked the shipping schedule and there are like 3 or 4 ships leaving the week after scheduled production completion. Hopefully there are no delays and it can make it stateside quickly!

Do you have to have a front license plate on your F60? If so, did you drill it into place? I'm trying to avoid that and I swear I saw someone post a good solution a while back, but I can't locate it.

I have seen the tow hook mounting license plate frames, but I'm worried that would interfere with the parking sensors, as it's off center.

I've really enjoy driving the SE! Can't say that I'm gas/electric efficient though and that's because I enjoy driving in the sport mode way too much

Unfortunately, where I am front license plates are state law Did not have to drill holes. It comes set up for license plate mounting and dealer put them on. Sorry can't help out with tow hook mounting for plates. Don't recall seeing that solution on a post.

Sending good thoughts that you're on the first vessel out after production! Keep us posted

I don't see how this wouldn't work with the F60. Maybe email the company and ask?

With regards to the efficiency, you have to break in the engine, right!? Enjoy those first couple thousand miles.

Thanks! That might be a great option. Just need to decide whether the offset would bug me.

Yes....haven't pushed it hard yet but love the tightness and handling in sport mode Now have 1.5K on it so I'm confident that the break-in period has been reached.

Mini PHEV units sold in US through October 31st is 325. November sales will be posted December 4th on Insideevs.com. Approximately 400 allocation slots for production through end of year. Below is a link to lasted PHEV review in Canada. In this video review the dealership also stated that demand was higher than supply.

There are 46 SEs in front of my VIN that have yet to finish production. I doubt mine will make the estimated completion date of the 28th unless they work weekends!

The article above has a comment section in which a dealer talk about ordering one for stock in October and already having it in hand. So much for prioritizing customer orders.

The build slots for 2018 were very limited. My dealer not being large had 2. I put 25% down 4 months ahead of launch. The dealer stock unit came in a week ahead of mine and someone drove up from Chicago and bought it the day it arrived. Then he was done for the year, can't sell another one until the 2019 order book opens.

I plan on doing the same thing when the new battery only unit comes out in 2019, I will put 25% down 6 months ahead of launch for them to hold one of the few slots they will get for them.

Bimmer.work is reporting my build as complete, one day ahead of schedule! There are like 10 outbound shipments between now and the end of next week, all scheduled for delivery to Baltimore around 12/18. Xmas delivery?!

I'm enjoying mine even more since I purchased the dual 110/220v charger. Definitely worth the investment to fully charge in 3 hours for me. My daily routine usually requires a few short trips so being able to charge in 3 hours has been a delight Highly recommend it!

My ride is battling gale force winds and 30’ seas off Ireland. Going to need to give it a good wash when it gets here!

Do you know the max charge rate?

So I just mentioned the ship carrying my ride was in a gale, I just checked the location and it hasn’t updated position in 8 hours!! I hope the ship is all right.
