The Story behind "The Roof Graphic"
So if you were in attendance and you may have seen my roof graphic around. Also thank you to all that personally comented to me about it. Well it would be a shame for me not to tell the story of how it came about.
It all started about 3 or 4 months ago, I contacted Mike from Aesthetic Creations and was in disscussion with him about making something custom for the roof. About a month into it and emails every day. I was throwing about 10 diffrent ideas at him changing them every other day. Mike and I could not nail any design down. My hats off to Mike though, he worked hard and put up with alot. Anyways he suggested I commission an artist to design something.
I found a artist by the name of Glenn Angus. You can see his gallery at http://gangus.cgsociety.org/gallery/ He had a series based on nose plane artwork. Anyways check it out
About three weeks later I had the final graphic:
Sadly Glen will never see his work finished on my roof. Glen passed away July 19 2007. Here is a touching tribute to him from the CG community here --->http://features.cgsociety.org/story_...?story_id=4169
Also his fight against Autism here --->http://gangus.cgsociety.org/gallery/467640/
In one of the e-mails he told me he planned on buying a Cooper until his son was diagnosed He loved cars and thought it would be great to pay respect to the classic Mini.
For those of you who did not see it at MITM this is a what it looks like completed (sorry the pic is not so great)
Lastly, I know this probably is not everyones cup of tea as far as roof graphic but I like it. I think it honors the classic Mini.
The point of this post is to showcase a very talented, cut short life. It would be a shame for me not to share this story with you all.
Thank You
James

I'm sorry to hear about Glenn's death, but what a wonderful tribute that he was able to complete your graphic. His work will live on with everyone who sees your car pass by or who stands and marvels at the artwork.
It also looks like Mike did a great job of applying it to your roof. Thanks for sharing the story.

James, I am so glad I got to watch Mike put this beautiful artwork on your MINI. The picture is even more interesting now that I know the story behind it. Mike did a really good job putting it on. I am so glad I was there to see the whole thing, start to finish. Thanks for sharing with us.

Thank you all for the kind words, I knew you all would like to know about this. I just gave him some simple ideas I had and Glen used his talent and turned it into a piece of work. I really had to fight spilling the beans during the days following the news, But I really wanted to have a unveiling at the MITM so I kept the cat in the bag, till I could get on the internet to post this yesterday. I was also planning with him to go drive up to Wisconsin so he could sign it.
Thanks again everyone
