I thought the evening Thursday drive starts at 8pm....maybe I read that wrong....not a big deal.

Either way, I was planning on a drive up Loveland Pass to the Continental Divide after dinner. There are enough people doing dinner, there might be a huge group going up a bit later. Just another option.

I will put you down for the drive, let me know about dinner.

Jon

Yah; the PDF I'm looking at indicates 7pm thursday: "Short, evening rides: Parade around Lake Dillon and Continental Divide at Dusk."

Not that it matters that much. Go ahead and add us to the dinner tally too. See you at Detailers Paradise.. after two and a half more work days.

Soon.

Hwy 285 Road Info

I just happened to visit the "Alerts and Restrictions" link on the Colorado road info site and noticed there may be up to 20 min. delays on 285 -- apparently between or near Foxton Rd and Richmond Hill Rd (just S. of Conifer). This map link may help. Not sure it's a big deal but I thought the caravan might be interested! Anyone been through there lately?

Good info Vince...thanks. We may opt for the Western Dragon instead of 285, and maybe Loveland Pass and then into Breck via the back side of Dillon. I am not a fan of the construction stuff, so we will see how it all pans out as the group decides on Thursday morning. I personally feel more like the Western Dragon/Loveland Pass over my original proposal of 285 thru Fairplay.

The delays on 285

are not too bad. Also, going that direction, outbound, is not that bad. There is a short part under construction but it is liveable.

BTW the rides around the lake

Are likely NOT to go before 8 pm. Last year we waited to almost dusk so the light would be better. Call it 8:15 or so.

Jonathan, thanks for that update, and the update on the time of the evening drives...leaves us plenty of time to eat and enjoy.

I just spoke with the Backcountry Brewery again, since we are up to 36 people. The room they have reserved for us holds 50, so that will be the cap for the group. Others can still eat there, but they just won't be seated with us.

I am soooo excited for the drive and dinner, WAY more interest than I anticipated, which is wicked cool.

My wife is in Vail right now, some rain showers, temps in the 60-70s, down to 40s at night. She says we are gonna have so much fun because it is just beautiful up there right now.

Jon,

So your suggestion will be up 285 then back to Evergreen to 103, then 70 to the Loveland Pass then on to Breck.

Perhaps I could come up 6, then backtrack to the 103 and do it twice. Sounds like fun.

Let me know, if you put it on a map.

Ah yes, Dinner I might stay for a light dinner with all of you, seems my wife has a company function for dinner in Boulder, so I don't have to rush back down the hill.

The hard thing is I am not sure we can make a firm decision of the route until we are at Webb Motorsports on Thursday morning, I want to leave it open to the drivers, so they can get the most out of the experience. Your route sounds great, just wondering when and where we would meet up with you. If we just go I70 to Evergreen Parkway, we could meet you there, near the shopping center right off the highway, then you join us for the Western Dragon. If we do that, I could see us there around 945am or so.

Does that make sense? I would come up through Morrison past Red Rocks, cuz that is more fun than just the highway.

I think Vinny has it right. I will head over that way on Thursday AM.

Jon, I will send you my cell phone number over in a PM, please give me a call when you decide on Thursday morning, if I meet up with you great, if not I will have a wonderful drive on the W Dragon then see you all at the MITM Carwash.

If I see another MINI or two on the W. Dragon then it is more fun.

yeah, this is gonna be a blast. I got my Nuvi 650 wired up, and programmed for locations, I am excited to have that along for the ride, even though I know where I am going, haha.

I need to get some sleep, I have been awake for nearly 28 hours now, and tomorrow I need to get my short shifter and rear sway bar installed, then have dinner with the extended family...sheesh, so many things to do, so little time.

Don, got your number, and will get it programmed...Vince, I am with you, I just want to have fun with all the cool MINI folks going.

Jodean, got you on the list, very glad you will be joining us.

Obviously if you are a maybe on the list, and Thursday morning when I leave comes around, you will have a reserved spot if we have not hit the majic number before then

I am really excited for the drive, gonna be hard for me to keep up with all you S drivers, but I finally got my adjustable sway bar in and my Craven short shifter in, so at least I will be having fun!!!

Indigo: I don't know if you ever put us down from early on as a "maybe" for dinner, but please upgrade that to yes for 1 adult and 1 child. Thanks!
