How to install flat load floor retrofit?

I just got my Countryman S All4 A couple weeks ago and she’s almost perfect except that the original owner did not order her with the flat load floor.

I’ve got a call in to my local mini dealership for an estimate on cost to have it installed but I’ve also seen the diagrams and OEM parts for sale and I’m pretty handy. I just can’t find actual instructions ANYWHERE on the steps.

has anyone installed one themselves? Can you offer any insight? Thanks!

Just wondering did you ever fit this? I am interested, and want to see my options.
thanks

no, I didn’t. No decent instructions to buy parts and DIY it. The dealership even said they’ve only done it twice and it’s a labor intensive pain in the butt for them so the cost was a couple grand to have it done. I just made something out of plywood that I lay over the boot well when I want to try and flat load stuff. Wasn’t worth the hassle or cost to me.

I recall making a parts estimate for a client/service advisor maybe 9 yrs ago..... Would have had to order different floor section panels, lower inner lip, both rear side panels and bunch of hardware.....I remember for parts the total was around $1,700.00 (?) and then labor on top of that....more than $1,000.00 i think....and labor rate has to be $30.00 an hour more by now....

yeah, exactly. Basically the entire interior framing of the boot needs to be replaced to fit the FLF - wasn’t worth all the work on a 6 year old car that’s also about to need a clutch and flywheel 😂
