I did all the chrome and my wheels with it last spring. Lots of driving in all weather and washes including the car wash. Still looks great! Like iwashmycar above stated, a few good heavy coats, the thicker the better. And I also sprayed a coat or two of glossifier on them too. Several on the wheels. After a few days, even in really hot weather, if cured to a nice finish that isn’t rubbery to the touch, it’s nice and solid feeling if you run a hand over it.
Took the wheels off. And used the note card method. Super easy. No glossifier, but that is the look I’m going for. Has been on a year! Note, not a MINI. Hee hee Used a large cheap painter’s thin plastic masking tarp, poked holes in it and did these right on the car.
The rubber paints will eventually wear thin, but that is easily touched up. I have used the Rustoleum product the last couple of times and much prefer it to the Plasti-dip. For me the finish is better, smoother and not quite as flat.
