Is there a Plug/Play tune that actually deliveries what it says?

Is there a Plug/Play tune that actually deliveries what it says? My own experience is dubious at best. The best tune I had was a remap of my 2006 cooperS ECU a long time ago. I now have a 2012 CMS and starting to mod it...

There have been a number of threads on this, recently one with multiple chips tested on a dyno. The results were meager at best. It sure seems like getting the ECU re mapped by MarioKart (a member here) or the folks at M7 is the way to go if you are looking for real performance results.
