R60 Missfire
As for myself, if you push it hard enough you will get a CEL if you don't have one already. If you do, get the codes scanned to identify the cylinder misfire. We had the same issue on the wife's car and it was her coil. Easy enough to replace. At normal engine load it would not do it but at high speeds when dropping a gear it would misfire.
Unfortunately there are so many things that could be the cause of it that we are all just basically throwing ***** at the wall to see what sticks, lol
the very first step needs to be getting the codes read.
I have said it before but will keep saying it because some folks just aren’t aware if they don’t do their own maintenance, but just going to AutoZone or something like that, they are not able to read all of the codes. There are BMW specific proprietary codes that general scan tools cannot access. The example I use is the time I went to AutoZone while my R60 was actively in limp mode and when they scanned it, it read no codes, when actually I had 5 when read by a scanner at a Euro specialty shop with the right equipment.
I now own one that has the correct software, but if you don’t want to buy one, that’s understandable, lol. I would recommend finding a shop the specializes in BMW/MINI and ask them to read the codes for you. Most shops will do this for free (well some do anyway). That’s where you need to start.

If you are going to keep the car for more than a year, the scan tool will pay for itself.
ECS has them on sale.

My 12 all4 s with a jb+ use to do this as well. I tried replacing plugs, didnt change anything. I then tried replacing coils, didnt change anything. I then removed the jb+ and got a tune from Mario and the car runs like a raped ape! Huge difference and doesnt cut out at all. Now with the tune, I did add a bigger intercooler, upgraded turbo and a larger downpipe, and colder plugs. So I cant pinpoint if it was the tune or colder plugs but it was money well spent haha.
