So, over the weekend on my 2011 CMs all4 I did the resonator and 2md cat delete, but I have an automatic, and no sport mode button :(.. just the flicking my gear selector to the left and going into " M/S " mode. And I do not get the pops n burbles and it is still pretty quiet, I cannot get rid of the 1st cat due to Canadian emissions laws, and was thinking of getting the megan racing axle back with 4" tips to get some nice loud sounds and some good tones during idle, bit was wondering if anyone has had experience with this exhaust, or possibly the supersprint or anything else? I find almost no videos for CMs for exhaust vids on YouTube and if I do, the audio is crap quality. So just looking for opinions.
No sport mode button?? I thought all S models have the sport mode button! In any case, we installed a magnaflow cat back and the tone definitely deepened.
I do not think you can get the pops without sport mode...
That’s just not fair! C’mon Canada! What you guys can’t pop and burble? Dang! That’s half the fun!
Seriuosly though, I’ve heard good things about Megan, but I’m not sure if I’ve heard one in person. It’s possible, who knows..... so you can’t go fully catless up there, huh? Another thing you may want to look at is a catted hi-flow downpipe instead of the catless ones, that will definitely give you a little more volume and deeper tone. When I went catless, the downpipe changed the tone quite a bit, but didn’t increase the volume too drastically. But when I had the other cat and resonator deleted, it got downright loud.
All jokes aside, I’m kind of surprised that you don’t have a sport button even if they deprogrammed the pops. In my ‘12 R60, the sport button has more functionality than just making it pop. It increases the sensitivity of the throttle, brakes, and steering, as well as stiffening up the suspension a little. I drive in sport all the time for those reasons mainly, the pops are just an added childish thrill for me, lol. I’m blown away that they remove those options as well by taking the button completely out.
I wonder if someone in your situation can just get a new switch-bank or button panel that has the sport button and have it work?? Is it possible that they removed the button but not the functionality? Maybe it’s worth looking into?
Unfortunately this is not the first I have about this. Apparently our friends to the north do not get the sport mode, even with an S
so I can technically go into " sport " by pushing my gear selector to the left and go into manual sport mode, and use my flappy paddles to shift, which does increase throttle response and handling and such, it just means like no sport idling or revving as I would always be in atleast 1st gear, but with that damn 1st cat I get no pops, atleast not with stock exhaust, and after much YouTube searching and using intense Google-fu (like king fu) I found vids of straight piped countryman.. SO i decided to not spend $700 on a megan axle back, and I am picking up an ecs vacuum actuated cutout, placing it directly after the 1st cat, so if/when I want to, I hit a button and bam I have essentially a straight pipe mid dump exhaust for fun times, and when I get into trouble I can hit he button and go back into " family " mode. Seemed more logical for my situation, will give me the sound I want for sure, while keeping my exhaust system legal for our stupid laws up north -.-and once I get it installed on the 28th, I'll post up some videos so others can hear, since there are very few countryman exhaust clips.
No flash so you can see gesr selector. Flash on to show my buttons available :(no sport mode :(
so, as you can see I currently have the ability to lock my windows, and turno off TC, and then just a bank of empty buttons, though I truely wish I had the sport mode button, I feel ripped off paying for an S model, and not having the damn button lol.. fricking canada
At least it does increase sensitivity on those things in the sport+ setting. With mine all that does is change it to shift more aggressively or to use the paddles. You still need the button for everything else here. I sent you a PM if you want a short video with my exhaust on it, send me your email.

i live in Canada and I have a 2011 Cooper S Countryman All4. It definitely has the sport mode button. It has every conceivable option on it save for Nav. Maybe that’s the difference? I just picked it up last week, btw. Cool little car!
I’ll post a couple of pics when I can get to my computer. My iPad browser doesn’t like to upload the pictures. Yes....fun car and very well put together.
Here are a couple of pics. I will make sure to post these to the appropriate thread too, but there's one in there which I think shows the Sport button. This is a Canadian car with km/h speedometer, etc., so unlikely a US-spec car which has been imported. I saw the Carfax report on it in any case.
Thanks! Too bad you don’t live near Ottawa, Canada because I am thinking of buying some different wheels in the Spring.
see now I am very confused... at first I thought that MAYBE someone just added the sport trim to my car. But nope I searched the VIN and it is factory an S... so why the hell dont I have a sport button -.- this is very upsetting because I've been putting in alot of work to give me like a sport mode of sorts for the car when I push the gear selector left and go into "M/S" mode. I may just cry now
Here is my option sheet. Maybe there will be some clues in there as to why I have that Sports Mode button? Was it part of the Sport package??

It says USA up there but then CA I imagine for Canada. I also see the sport button listed as an option there. Maybe the button itself is an option in Canada? I just don’t know anymore!
Thanks! Too bad you don’t live near Ottawa, Canada because I am thinking of buying some different wheels in the Spring.
Keep me in mind if you decide to make the change. I might be talked into a May drive through the UP and along part of the Trans-Canada highway -- could be fun.

I think Ottawa, ON, might be a little far for you LOL? Besides, by May I will already have my summer tires on. That is of course unless global warming means a longer winter than normal!
Here is a VIN report i got for my car says sport and all for the model.. but whoever original owner was mistve been a decrepid old lady to not have the sport mode button -.-and to make that and additional option on a sport trimmed vehicle seems ludicrous to me.
