Parking Brake Question...

Has anyone experienced a loud sound coming from the rear wheel area when disengaging the electronic parking brake? I heard it today when leaving the dealer. I disengaged the parking brake (on a relatively even plane) and the vehicle wouldn't move. I tapped the throttle and heard a loud noise, kind of like a POP or BANG. Didn't notice anything out of the ordinary once on the road, stop and go, but I'm wondering if anyone knows what this this. Thanks!

Don't have Electronic brake, so no help but it sounds wrong. But if you were at the dealer why did you leave?

I would post this on the Clubman forum, because they've had them longer.

I knew that was coming... Had to get back home ASAP. But if the issue persisted clearly I would've left the vehicle there and got a ride back.

Was the car washed at the dealer? When I wash my car and then apply the parking brake, the next time I release it and drive away it pops. It seems that the brake pads dry and stick to the rotors so they pop as they break off when you start driving. That's been my experience.

This has got to be it! I was even told they performed a courtesy wash.

As long as it's not doing every time you apply the brake and release it that was probably it.

Same here, either rain or a wash if I set the e-brake while things are wet and then let it dry, the brakes tend to stick to the rotor, little gas and they break free to the sound of a pop. No I'll side effects, so I've just assumed that in the drying process they just get stuck a bit
