R60 gas milage, not bad, but different
gas milage, not bad, but different
I am getting 27mpg, in city and hwy. that doesn't seem right. is this the Vanos thing or something?
I have reset my mpg display after each tank of gas or long trip to verify my mpg. so far its always been 27.

Are you going by car computer or calculating by hand? I don't really trust the computer stats.
Are you using Sport mode on highway? That will kill mpg. I haven't driven the CM for awhile, son has it but as I recall the Highway mileage wasn't all that great.
If you have any Vanos issues you'd probably be seeing some OBD codes.

I'm wondering if it runs a cumulative total even when you reset it? That would explain why the mileage stays at 27 for a period of time. I'd assume too that if you did a long trip where you refuelled 2,3,4 times that it might increase slightly?
Don't know if will show up in my signature as just added the banner. I am one of two F60 owners using fuelly. I have a mix of driving where the other is 90% highway. Not hard to keep up and is based on actual data rather than the car's computer. I didn't count the initial dealer fill. All but one tank has been 93 octane as Sams and Costco only offer 87 and 93, but it is cheaper than the mid-range at other station. Very easy to keep up to date...get a receipt and write your odometer mileage on it. Has all the data to enter - date, gallons, price, and it does the math from prior odometer entry so don't really need to note trip mileage. Don't have to run back to the computer as can save 2 or 3 receipts and enter them, oldest first, in one sitting.
My highest to date was 32.3 on 90% highway and lowest 22.16 on 85% city. Overall average on 10 fillups over 3022 miles is 26.8 on a 49/51 city/highway split and that is midrange of what I typically average on my 'normal' 60% city driving.

The graphic in the signature doesn't show...just a link. But as a .png file, it is picture only which is what was expecting to show...not link to site. Must be a forum think in how processes BB code.
EDIT NOTE: Figured out how to do it when setting up signature...
1) Don't copy/paste the BB Code in the narrative, but you do need a portion of the code for below
2) Rather than upload an image, use the www link option. Copy from the code only the portion beginning with "http" and ending with ".png".
3) On preview, be sure to choose 'insert' which places coding in the narrative text area, then save.
