I would like to replace the standard oval interior mirror on my 2012 Countryman S with a wide angle mirror or at least with a mirror that was a bit wider and had a thinner rim. I am not concerned about dimming because I have a pretty dark tint on my rear window.
I used a clip on rear view mirror in my old Mazda but the rim around the current mirror in my Mini is too thick for that. I'll look at Broadway, if I can find them. Thanks/
Interested in this also if you find anything please post it. I had one in my mazda as well although i like my mirror positioning there is still something left to be desired after having a super wide mirror and being able to literally see it all.
They have flat and convex ones.. i have the convex one.
Great, I have a couple of clipons from my old Mazda3 and my wife's Jetta but the clips were not deep enough or far enough apart from top to bottom to fit over the oval mirror in my R60. I'll give one a try.

Well, I got the convex one from Amazon.... and happily ripped open the box (well, it wasn't that easy), but I can't get it to clip onto the old mirror in my Countryman. It seems it won't expand quite far enough.. Another centimeter or so would do it.

I think I will write to Razo.
hmm.. i'll take a pic of mine when I get home from work.. but mine is a RAZO brand mirror.
As I wrote in another note. I called Carmate today and they told me that the Razo mirrors all have the same clamps in back regardless of the size of the mirror, so I don't understand why I can't clamp it on
So here are some shots of the mirror in my car and the Razo
Here is the original mirror in my car.
This is the original mirror in my Countryman.
This is hard to make out but it is the back of the oem mirror through the window.
This is the RAZO mirror, but it is merely hanging from the stock mirror.
I may cut out the expandable clamps, hang the mirror from the oem mirror the way you see it in one of the photos and velcro the RAZO to the oem mirror.
I'll measure, but as I posted earlier, I called Carmate and they told me the clamps (brackets) are the same size on all of their mirrors. Anyhow, I took in into my repair shop yesterday and they tried as well. Then I went home and straightened out the bottom clamps (the expanding ones). For the moment it is attached by rubber bands, I will try velcro if I am satisfied.
Held on with rubber bands. The bottom clamps are bent forward so the mirror will sit flatter.
