R60 2011 Cooper S Countryman Steering Failure
2011 Cooper S Countryman Steering Failure
My wife's Countryman has been a great vehicle. I've kept up pretty well with the maintenance and made a few upgrades. We've had no major issues.
Yesterday the steering error light was on (yellow steering wheel with exclamation) at start and the electric assisted steering is not working at all. Now it drives like a car with no power steering which is kinda fun but not for everyday driving.
I checked the interior fuse. It is a 10 A fuse. Looked fine but I replaced it anyway.
I can't find the map/diagram for the engine compartment fuses, it's not listed in the manual. I also looked online but nothing. Does anyone have this mapping?
I checked all the engine compartment fuses anyway and they all seem ok. I haven't replaced any yet. I'm waiting to find out which one it is.
I also checked the connections to the electric steering pump. They seemed ok - I cleaned them up a little and put them back.... no joy.
I'm hoping someone else has experienced this on a Countryman before and can tell me where else to look (aside from the fuses).
And please - if anyone has the engine compartment fuses list, can you point me in the right direction?
Thank you (and my wife thanks you!)
