Hmmm...is there any way to test the DME for faulty readings? I assume if there is no short to the solenoid that the DME would be responsible for randomly activating/deactivating the solenoid motor correct?

You would have to have a scanner that can read that. Or have a MINI dealership scan it, they can see everything. Usually 1 hr labor charge,
