Driver door unlocking problems.

Hi all,

So this finally happened to me now...the driver side door will ONLY unlock using the interior door pull. It will lock using the remote and interior switch, but will not unlock via remote, interior switch, OR inserting the key into the exterior handle.

I've read other threads, some say you can reattach a loose cable, some say to replace the actuator. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

02 R50...the other doors lock/unlock as they should.

I would check the door cable first and then replace the actuator , they get lazy and fail first on the unlock portion, then fail down the road on the lock portion. Since you tested the other unlock / lock usual locations. Sounds like you have it narrowed down.

I agree, just went through this issue and replaced the door actuator. No issues after 6 months.

Yep , most of the time is just that actuator part. I did mine in pairs to get it all done at once.
