Thumbs up Dash Buds Have a New Home

Those of you following the saga . . . MINI was turned in and the Mazda3 was on order. Last Saturday, we went out and confirmed the Mazda delivery date. As hubby was driving, he decided to drive through the local Volvo dealer on the way home. Long story short: New V60 Platinum in Seashell Metallic. Only regret, so far, is losing the $500 on the Mazda order. We'll post occasionally to let you know how the buds are enjoying it.

My little sister wants to know your address so she and her wife can drive out in their Subaru and explain a few things to you.

Haha, would love to meet them. Be warned though, I have attack Whippets. Vey butch dogs. All the squirrels in the neighborhood are scared.

I sent a thought to the Dash Buds today when I saw a car similar to yours.

Congrats, the V60 is a really nice ride - I was all set to get a V60... until my wife discovered the Countryman.

By the way, how did you go from Mazda3 to V60?

You're married and went from a V60 to a MINI and you're asking me? Trust me, it's the same way you did.

After the "it's your car, your money, your payment" speech, it was all down hill. The V60 and the 3 are similar in size, but the V60 is closer to a wagon and has more HP - just a little more reasonable for the dogs. It's way too conservative for me, but performance, ride, and handling are very, very, good. Lease payment on the Volvo is lower than on the 3, also. You get old, you get practical.

Consider it money well spent to not have the Mazda. I personally won't buy another one.

You have a good point, though I should mention that over here the CM and V60 are priced about the same so we were shopping in the same price bracket.

FWIW I really enjoyed driving and being in the V60 - the superb ride comfort, yet sporty handling, combined with the luxury car ambiance really endeared me to it. Not to mention the top safety features and crash-test scores. It's hard to tell that it shares a platform with my Mondeo. BTW, I really think the S60 and V60 are underrated.

Don't get me wrong - I don't regret getting our CM, but I also wish we'd gotten the V60. They are two totally different cars.

That they are. Between the two, the V60 is a very good choice. However, I may be a bit predjudiced as I am not a BMW fan. I did not know that Volvo still used the Ford platform. Amazing that Ford Europe can do fantastic things with their platforms, yet when they ship them across the pond they screw it up. So far, all is well with the V60. No complaints, just getting used to the Swede's way of doing things. They, apparently, do not believe in a central control ****. But all the buttons and menues make sense once you start thinking like them.
