Need Advice - Is this a good price?

Hello All - I am new to the forums and looking for some advice on a Mini Countryman for my wife.

Here are the specs:

2014 Mini Countryman S All4

The car was used as a loaner car for a few months and has only 2,680 miles.

-Cold Weather Package (heated seats, power mirrors)
- Mini Connected w/ Navigation Package (armrest, traffic alerts)
- Premium Package (pano sunroof, auto headlights, climate control)
- Technology Package (harmon kardon, XM radio)
- Mini wired package ( voice command, visual boost, bluetooth, usb)
- Steptronic auto transmission
- Flat load floor
- etc etc

The new price they had the car for was $33,945. He also said they usually charge a $500 assembly fee on new cars as they come to the states still needing some assembly? Not sure if this was true or not?

Anyways, the price of the car is $30,000. They would only lower the price to $29,500 out the door. Is this a good price? Its a 2014 with a lot of add-ons…basically brand new.

Thanks!

$4,500.00 off a basically brand new 2014 loaded Countryman A4....? Don't think I have ever heard of a better deal...

What sort of financing rates are they providing.

.9% for 48 months and 1.9% for 60 months.

Was the salesman lying about the $500 assembly fee that their dealership charges on new minis? He said when they are shipped there are still parts that need to be assembled at the dealership.

That sounds like a good deal to me considering i paid around 24K for a used 2011 with 20K miles.

That's a pretty good price. I got almost $5k off a '13 last year with about 3k miles. Just curious what color it is. Not sure about that assembly fee but they did try to tack on $600 for a Lojack system that I don't really need.

It is white with black top.

Yah I am not sure about the $500 assembly fee, but it doesn't matter since I won't need to pay it anyways.

Thanks for the help all!

The 500$ fee is also called dealer handling. Bunch of crap whatever they call it. I just bought out my 3yr lease a year early, and they tried to add that crap back into the deal! There is a very good reason they are referred to as "Stealerships"!!

any who. . .I think that is a great price for that car with those options!

Seems like a fair price. I can't believe the retail is that low to start with those options. Mine was only an S and didn't have that many options and the retail on mine wasn't that much cheaper.

I am curious of what region you are in. It seems here in the Northwest I could not find a deal like that.

Example:
http://www.seattlemini.com/VehicleDe...-WA/2142889963

Is this normal for the region.. If i would have seen your deal I would have pulled the trigger on something new.

When I purchased my wifes Mini last year it was a pre-owned 2013 with 3,000 miles on it.
I negotiate 15% off the original list price of the car when new plus CPO coverage, in effect extending the warranty two years and to 100K miles.
Your dearlership is basicly offering you 14% off the list price.
I would look around to see if there are any low mileage CPO cars out there to use as leverage to get a little more off what is basicly a used non titled car which is being sold as new.
Maybe they could still give it a CPO certification though.

Sounds like a good deal. I just paid $23,250 for a 2012 Countryman S (not AWD) with 4,100 miles and similar options.

The fee is bogus. And besides, shouldn't they pay it since they ordered the car for themselves? There's nothing being assembled for YOU the customer. Haggle another 500 off.

I agree that $500 assembly few is bogus. I've bought 2 MINIs from 2 different dealers and neither one had that.

That's including all taxes? Man, cars are so cheap over there. You don't want to know what I paid for my non-S ALL4!
