After Market Running Lights

I priced the Mini Running lights and man they are some expensive. Has anyone had any experience in an after market alternative? is the mounting bracket the issue? It seems that $700 plus is a bit pricey for something that I only care about because it looks cool.

If you do a site search for DRL's you will find about 10 pages of threads discussing this issue.

Are you talking about the running lights by the fog lights, or the driving lights that can be installed in the grill?

This was worth every penny. More form looks perspective than function, but it stood out.

VIP Customs Running Lights

I did find after Market running lights that are of high quality and am very happy with them. Cost was $359.00. a far cry from the $700.00 plus that Mini wanted for them. For the price of $359.00 they came with the wiring harness, Two lights with covers, and the mounting brackets.

We've got the factory rally lights on our R57S and, honestly, for anything other than *remote* un-lit roads they're not all that useful. They just don't put out enough added light (compared to the factory Xenons) to make it worth the expense. To say nothing of being illegal to use on-road most of the time anyway.

Holy smoke, Fredo-I'm guessing you're relying on cooling air from the lower grille, then?

I'll never know if there were adverse effects cuz I bailed out of the CM back in May, mostly due to clutch and zero assistance from the two dealers I went to.

We still ave the R53 so I check on you guys and some of my favorite threads (smelly clutch, what did you do to you CM today) periodically.
