Brake duct LEDs

Great product. $134 from Ebay (MIT Accessories or carlab-design-tuning or casakeytw who I purchased from) including shipping. Available on-line from others for $200-$250. I think Outmotoring will be selling them soon. Easy install. Can be wired for automatic switch to dim when headlights on. See my gallery for 4th photo. By far BEST CM LIGHTING MOD. Looks like factory item. The unit simply replaces the pop-out brake duct.

No night pics yet, I just installed them this morning. Nite pics tend not to accurately represent them. My guess is they are very similar to what you see on the newer Benz C series. They are wired to dim when you turn headlights on. They are not meant to improve what you see, only to make you more visible during the day. They add some bling (but not too much) to the front end and definately make you more visible to others during the day. SIMilar to the LEDs on my Clubman (see my gallery).

Yes, you could easily mask off the light and paint the housing.

The instructions are straightforward, mostly plug and play. Need to run power from a fuse that is Ignition/ACC and run ground to a ground. I ran power wire from engine bay by going through the cabin air filter which is behind and below the battery (you don't need to remove the battery, just the cover to see it) and grounded in the engine bay thru an existing screw on one of the braces near the passenger side headlight. If you want lights to dim when headlights are on you tap a blue wire into the hot wire to one of the headlights. The front brake duct housing pops out (I used an L shaped tool to pry it out from the back. You can see how it snaps by looking at the LED housing) and you just insert/pop in the new LED unit. No need to remove front bumper.

Do you know the color temperature of the LED bulbs? I am wondering how they would match up to my HID headlamps.

6000k-7000k according to the documentation. Just based on visual they would go well with HIDs. Technically speaking, they are very bright and very white.

I got Hid fog lights install by my local shop replacing my factory ones.

I live on North shore of long Island , driving on back roads were there are not much street lights.

These Hid fogs and Hella lamps do help a lot.

I went to my local car shop. They have a person who does tints, AV
He installed the switches and the lights for me. I told them were to install the switches. They turn on/off with the switches, No connection to existing lights.
He also install LED parking lights which look white ( top of fogs)
