R60 minimalism analyzer
minimalism analyzer
I just got my new mini two weeks ago, it's a 2013 MC S.
I am wondering why the fish tank is not moving and there are no stars updating when I drive (nothing is updating on the display). The fish tank and stars should be updating while I drive, right?
The minimalism analyzer is on and I can view my scores on "My highest" and on my Iphone. So far I've about 180 mileage on this mini
Please advise
Thank you

Hi! I am the proud new owner of a Countryman and I have been loving the Mini Connected..... especially Minimalism Analyser. I noticed on mine when you connect "on" really means "off" and vice versa. I suspect this is a glitch in the app, but if I turn it "off" it works! Give that a try and see if you get stars.
mrgentleminh, you need to have the mini connected feature in your car and then there is an app (I believe only for iPhone right now) that you can download for free. It's pretty fun. There are some additional features as well. HAVE FUN!

I hope that works for you!!
Hi gremlin-- sorry! I should of been more clear. so, open the app on your ipod/ iphone, connect your iPod/iPhone to the cable, select mini connected on your screen in the car, (sometimes it takes a few minutes to load all the features), choose the minimalism analyser feature. When the screen pops up with the fishy on it, there is an icon list on the upper left - a rocket, a trophy, and a swirl of stars - highlight the rocket and hit your joystick until the check appears. In my case, it says the analyser is "off" but it is really on at that point. I think it's a glitch in the app.

It does, and actually now that I look at it, it's not backwards. Thinking about the interface (The ux is a little confusing) when you select those items with the rotary dial the menu item tells you what they do, not the current state, so when the check appears it's on and the item highlighted says "Turn OFF" because that's what it would do if you select it. I've seen this before when in some phones the map option says "Hide Traffic" and when you click it then this changes to "Show Traffic"
When you're using it if you think about that, it makes sense.
One of my daughters promptly named our fish Pablo the moment I turned that on. It is odd, I get the most points just driving down the highway. After you get 5 stars on all three (Accel/Brake/Shift) Pablo starts jumping out of the tank towards a sky full of stars and you get points. It also gives you a ranking against other users. We use it occasionally, but not as much as when we first found it.
For now, glad I got connected for the iPhone music integration, makes it nice trying to select playlists. Aside from that, the Stitcher application is a nice plugin, we use it to listen to Star Talk. I do not use Pandora, but I noticed there is a plug-in for that as well.
I just hope they keep it up, seems to lag quite a bit behind new phone models. I happen to have an iPhone, but I wish they would port the app to Android and Windows to build up users and hopefully get companies building plug-ins for their applications. I would like to see the MLB At Bat application integrate a plug-in. Would be easier to listen to games instead of fumbling w/the iPhone at red lights or having someone else queue it up.
