What exactly is the "flat load floor?"

I didn't order it, I didn't pay for it, but I think I have it. It is a big thick panel that covers the hole in the back. It folds up and can lock in the up position. I was told by my MA when I ordered that if I didn't order it, I'd have that hole back there, which I was ok with so chose not too.

Did I get one anyway, or is the flatload something else entirely?

Do you have the rear bench or buckets seats? I think the rear buckets still get the load floor you have described as a standard item.

with the flat load floor opion, you get 2 panels in back

1 panel covers the "hole" while the other can be verticle and block the space between the buckets seats or flat over the first cover

also, the second cover can be folded forward when the bucket seat backs are folded forward and it covers bthe gap between the seats

Buckets. That must be it. The configurator doesn't indicate that at all though. I wonder if some with buckets ordered it and paid for it?

You don't have the flat load floor, you have the luggage compartment cover, which is standard with the buckets. If you add the flat load floor, you get a second panel. Here's a picture:

Hi

Does anyone know the part number for the second flat load floor - have a four seater countryman, but keep the standard flat load floor up to fill space between seats....

Will a spare tire fit in the countryman hole where the flat load accessory goes?

Can u still use the flat load floor if a spare tire is in there?

What won't fit? The tire won't fit in the hole or the flat load accessory won't fit over the tire properly?

Tnks, in advance, for responding.

A spare won't fit in the hole. Many have tried.

I was afraid the spare would not fit. My 2014 countryman is coming in early in September and I tried to get the dealer to change the run flats to regular tires. They refused, so I thought I would swop them out when I got the mini. I just don't like the idea of riding around without a spare tire. Murphy says if I get a flat without the spare, I will get it when I am 100 miles from anywhere and it will be in the middle of the night.

Oh well, back to the drawing board.

I'm planning to throw a slime kit in the car and switch to regular tires after my run flats wear out. I haven't had a blow out since I was a teenager and that was because I never checked my tires. I'll probably buy a spare for long trips, but I'm not too worried about getting stranded somewhere.

There was someone on here looking into a deflated spare from a Porsche or Lotus that would fit, but it required an adapter to make it work. I don't know the end result, but there's a thread in the wheels sub forum about it.

There is a person who figured out a space saver from an older mercedes spare with a bolt pattern adapter kit/space. Not a cheap solution, but it is elegant.

My only gripes about my CMS are both things I knew about in advance: door toggles, which are only an annoyance for folks like us who have had a MINI since the first gen and way too many years of muscle memory, and the lack of flat load floor on our bench seat build. It was in flux at time of car manufacture, not yet clear on the configurator when ordered, but I knew from all the early scuttlebutt that as of mid March the bench models wouldn't have the flat load floor (the confusion being what MINI decided to call the cover at boot gate level vs a cover aligning with folded-down seats)... but that's the rub. I've made two passes at home-brewed covers down there but they don't prove satisfactory. I'm so accustomed to stashing incidentals and emergency supplies under that panel, so it always feels deficient to me. I hope someone comes up with a good aftermarket solution, despite the lack of molded framing around the boot to fit one...

wahhhh! waaaaaaaaaahhh! OK I'm done.

Oh. I'm glad they were. There is quirky, them there is silly, and having the window switches in the center is the latter IMHO. were the window cranks in the original mini in the center console?

Yep, right where you can not access them if you have something in your cup holders! I would buy a '13 just for that change!

Yeah. It is annoying enough the fog light and sport switch is blocked by a drink. It wouldn't be so bad if the cup holders were behind the stick.
